You will have the opportunity to join & lead a small, short-term maintenance project. Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, you will learn different equipment mechanical and electrical systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
As an Engineering Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our manufacturing team by contributing to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, products, and equipment. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers and production staff to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of manufacturing, including process design, Lean Six Sigma projects, and quality control. Through your work, you will help to identify and implement process improvements, troubleshoot technical issues, and support ongoing production operations. Education:
• Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree engineering program or currently enrolled in trade school or an associates degree program.
• Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering degree preferred. (Current standing Junior, or Senior enrolled in a Master's program)
• Previous internship or engineering/manufacturing experience a plus.
Experience:
• Interest and/or coursework in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science. Coursework in Statics, Dynamics, and Engineering Controls is a plus.
• Foresight: Think critically and perform risk assessments to make a safe decision at work.
• Accountable: Demonstrate personal integrity and trust, taking personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.
• Determination: Perform tasks independently under little to moderate supervision and able to effectively utilize resources when appropriate.
• Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other team members, providing and receiving feedback, and contributing to team goals and objectives.
• Time Management: Manage time effectively to meet established deadlines. Interns should also be able to adapt to changing priorities and tasks in the face of challenges and obstacles.
• Problem-solving: Analyze complex problems, identify potential solutions, and implement effective strategies to address issues that arise in the course of their work.
• Data analysis: Analyze and interpret data related to their field of study, using statistical methods and software to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
• Proficiency or experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in Mastercam preferred.
• Proficiency in technical writing and documentation
• Familiarity of Quality Control, Design for Six Sigma, or Project Management is a plus.
• Familiarity with CNC machining, grinding, lathe equipment and/or manufacturing automation is a plus.
• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
