KPMG is currently seeking an Engineering Director to join our KPMGI Tax and Legal Team. This is a hybrid work opportunity out of our Atlanta Ignition location.
Responsibilities:
  • Define roadmaps and technical strategies for multi-year, large-scale programs that span cloud services, microservices, front-end frameworks and Artificial Intelligence (AI)/ Machine Learning (ML) integrations
  • Act as the main liaison between business stakeholders, enterprise architects, security/risk officers and product leadership to align priorities, scope and budgets
  • Own end-to-end program delivery; guide design reviews, enforce best practices (infrastructure as code, containerization, API standards), and validate POCs for new technologies (LLM fine-tuning, prompt-based workflows, and more)
  • Hire, mentor and grow a high-performing team of engineers (full-stack, data science, DevOps; create clear career paths, and foster a culture of continuous learning
  • Work in a highly regulated environment with security testing and risk teams to bake in security-by-design threat modeling, automated security scans, pen-testing cycles and regulatory compliance
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:
  • Minimum ten years of recent experience in software engineering; minimum five years of recent experience in a hands on leadership role; proven track record leading large, complex enterprise programs on Azure (App Services, Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service, SQL Database)
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field is required.
  • Deep practical experience and background in GenAI, Python, .NET Framework/Core, C#, PowerShell, Angular, TypeScript, LLM fine-tuning (Azure OpenAI or open-source), data pipelines, model deployment, DevOps/CI-CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), infrastructure as code (ARM, Bicep)
  • Solid understanding of software engineering such as microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization; Experience building enterprise systems using Python, .NET, C#, Angular, SQL and Azure is preferred
  • Strong Python skills and experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) is preferred with excellent analytical skills
  • Exceptional communicating skills, demonstrated ability and comfort in presenting to C-suite and translating business needs into technical solutions; possess a entrepreneurial mindset such as being proactive, data-driven, and thrives in ambiguity
