DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMING
Job Disclosures:
Location: On-site or Remote, providing the candidate resides in one of the following markets: Santa Fe, NM; Denver, CO; Las Vegas, NV; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $88,870 to $122,640. Meow Wolf's salary scales set the expected range of pay for this position determined by rank. Off-scale salaries may be offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
Deadline: The deadline to submit applications for this position is July 10, 2026. Meow Wolf reserves the right to extend this deadline if necessary.
Job Summary:
The Director of Programming is responsible for implementing public-facing programs and activations, increasing the quantity, quality, and consistency of programming across all Meow Wolf exhibitions. This position will strategically grow same-store-sales through programming that increases reach, repeat visits, per capita spending, and net promoter scores.
As the Director of Programming, you will work closely with content curators, operations teams, marketing, product and engineering, data and analysis, and other internal teams to develop and implement themed programming across our current and future exhibitions.
As a member of the Central Operations team, you will play a key role in bringing the unique Meow Wolf vibrancy to our exhibitions through co-developed programming and activations allowing our brand to shine. As Meow Wolf matures, it is critical that we continue to engage with our local communities and create reasons to visit again. Programming is a critical component of our local strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategize, implement and analyze cross-exhibition programming initiatives that enliven the company's purpose and mission.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders across the organization to co-develop holistic programming and activations that drive repeat visitation and ticket sales.
  • Create, communicate, and implement programming standards and processes across, but not limited to: Guest Engagement, Food & Beverage, and Merchandise.
  • Develop program assessment protocols for tracking key performance indicators as a basis for measuring the impact of programs as they relate to reach, repeat visits, per capita spending, and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage budget and spending for programs and activations across exhibitions.
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to plans and schedules.
  • Provide support and guidance for all developed program opportunities for site leadership.
  • Define revenue and incremental EBITDA goals. Work closely with the Chief Exhibition and Experience Officer to draft the annual program budget and monitor expenses throughout the year ensuring adherence to budget.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years in a theme park, museum, or attraction operations experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional programming efforts involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in opening new locations and working across an organization with multiple locations.
  • Ability to partner collaboratively across diverse disciplines in the organization and ability to lead others in the development of strategy, planning, and execution of deliverables.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams to meet individual goals and Company objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize and organize workload for self and others.
  • Minimum 2 years of project/ process management or event planning experience.
  • Experience with programmatic evaluation.
  • Good judgment in difficult and complicated management situations.
  • Ability to maintain an appropriate, dispassionate demeanor in emergencies, difficult customer interactions, and interactions with personnel.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm MT or 10am to 6pm MST - occasionally requiring flexibility to work during evenings or weekends based on business needs, as well as travel to off-site locations depending on the role and need.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
This position does require supervisory responsibility.
