You as a VDC Coordinator will:

  • Be a part of a project team working in a fast paced environment with project managers, superintendents, and engineers on-site.

  • Collaborate with VDC Leadership team to build a BIM Execution Plan and VDC implementation strategy

  • Understand the owner BIM / Employers Information Requirements (EIR) and use a custom suite of software tools to prepare model-based deliverables

  • Have the freedom and creativity to develop project specific workflows that utilize BIM data for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling (4D), coordination, field layout, and facilitates management.

  • Develop solutions with the project stakeholders by performing model based design and constructability review, clash detection and visualization

  • Manage and maintain BIM data generated from various sources throughout design and construction

  • Take ownership over coordination meetings with designers, trades, and suppliers

  • Work closely with the field team using the intelligent building models to track the progress on site and contribute on the overall project schedules and plans

  • Use your 3D Modeling skills to model Architectural, Structural, MEP and Construction Logistic elements as needed for representation, visualization, and coordination.

  • Facilitate reality capture, utilizing LiDAR, Drones and 360 Photography for model integration, QA/QC, analysis, and visualization.

  • Help your project team navigate the expanding world of construction technology by teaching and mentoring them as they learn new software and workflows.

  • Participate in software testing, R&D initiatives and continue personal and professional growth.

  • Be a part of the VDC community to build on EllisDon's rich history of innovation as leaders in the construction industry.

    What you will bring to the Team:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

    • Experience and interest in building structures and structural assemblies and construction will be considered and asset.

    • University degree/ Technology Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, M&E or related field.

    • 3-5+ years of professional experience with focus on on-site BIM Management, Modeling, and technologies, preferably on site.

    • Relevant experience in engineering and/or construction fields, including document production and M&E coordination works.

    • An ability to demonstrate competence and relevant experience in Revit, AutoCAD / AutoCAD Civil 3D, Navisworks, Revizto, Autodesk BIM360, ACC, dRofus, Fuzor, cmBuilder, and TwinMotion.

    • Experience with 3D Laser Scanning, Drone Photogrammetry, and 360 Photos with Automated Progress Tracking is considered an asset.

    • Experience working with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam.

    • Appropriate level of knowledge interpreting design and construction drawings.

    • Passionate about the construction industry and innovation.

    • Excellent organization, time management skills and attention to detail.

    • BIM-related training or certifications considered an asset (Building Transformations, Building SMART)

    • RPAS (Drone) Operator Certification (Or the ability to achieve).

    • Self motivated, passionate, innovative, and creative.
