Job description

Bonnell Aluminum is seeking a Sr CAD Operator to support the continued growth and success of the TSLOTS product line. The Sr CAD Operator plays a critical role in the brand's success, and because the responsibilities of this position can vary widely, the ideal candidate must be adaptable, collaborative, and committed to contributing to the overall effectiveness of the design team. Reporting to the TSLOTS Brand Design Leader, this individual will provide expertise, guidance, and support to fellow CAD Operators while helping advance the continued success of the TSLOTS brand.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Partner with production daily to address issues, requests, and potential challenges.

  • Escalate matters to the Brand Design Leader as appropriate.

  • Serve as the primary contact for designated customers and plant stakeholders when the Brand Design Leader is unavailable.

  • Review and analyze quotes and drawings for accuracy and feasibility.

  • Support daily design team activities, including quoting, designing, and CNC programming.

  • Communicate with customers by phone and email.

  • Coach Designers on reviewing drawings and 3D models and communicating required changes to customers.

  • Assess customer requests for feasibility, anticipate challenges, and collaborate with production to resolve them.

  • Obtain pricing for non-standard items and determine list pricing.

  • Complete new item number request forms.

  • Assist the design team with customer quote generation.

  • Coordinate with production and purchasing to provide customers with accurate lead times.

  • Ensure design work, panel programming, and drawings are completed ahead of production needs.

  • Review Customer Hassle Incidents with the Brand Design Lead.

  • Perform conversational CNC programming.

  • Assist plant leadership with waste stopper initiatives and other projects.

What You'll Need To Have:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 4 years of 3D design experience.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and customer service.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate confidently at all levels.

  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Advanced computer literacy.

  • Experience with conversational CNC programming.
