Metrolinx's GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.

What You'll Do Hereย 

  • Carry out detailed constructability reviews to develop the engineering design requirements, project schedule,ย manpowerย and procurement requirements.ย 

  • Plan and implement an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones, andย manpowerย requirements.ย 

  • Assistย in Developing andย maintainingย the project schedule and budget for the engineering and construction segments of the project.ย 

  • Identifyย project milestones andย adjustmentย to schedules.ย 

  • Identifyย projectย manpowerย requirements and coordinatesย manpowerย withย appropriate tradesย and subcontractors.ย 

  • Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc.ย 

  • Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contractย requirementsย and related specifications.ย 

  • Coordinate activities relating to technical developments,ย schedulingย and resolving engineering design and test problems.ย 

  • Evaluate and recommend design changes, specifications and drawing releases.ย 

  • Provide status and progress reports to customers, projectย team, and management.ย 

  • Forecast and track change orders and scope changes.ย 

  • Assistย and monitor safety programs and statistics asย required.ย 

  • Write and review purchase specifications and subcontract documents.ย 

  • Involve actively in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and procedures.ย 

  • Provide estimating and project management back-up asย required.ย 

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager.ย 

  • Develop andย writeย reports and business correspondence.ย 

What You Bringย 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of organization.ย 

  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills. Experience with various document control software.ย 

  • Post secondary education in Civil Engineering or Civil discipline or Equivalent.ย 

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in project engineering in a construction or EPC environmentย 

  • Excellent interpersonal communication (both oral and written) skills.ย 

  • Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.ย 

  • Organizational and time management skills.ย Ability to prioritize and multi-task/ Serviceย orientated.ย

Expected compensation for this role is between $110,000-$130,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance based bonus program.
