Job description

Overview

As a Roadway Engineer/Assistant Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our Phoenix, AZ officeย to assist in the growth of the firm's Transportation Engineering practice. You'll take part in design of roadway improvements and new construction from start to finish including layout, calculations, construction plan production, bid quantities, and cost estimates on all types of transportation projects for a broad range of local, county, and state transportation infrastructure projects. The selected candidate must be self-motivated and will be responsible for work including geometric studies, report writing, preliminary and final engineering, drainage design, and other related efforts. This position is an excellent opportunity for an individual to develop transportation design and production skills and to assist in the growth of the transportation engineering practice within the firm.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • 5-10 years' experience in the design of roadways preferred
  • EIT required, ability to obtain PE
  • ADOT project experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of roadway drafting and design software such as Bentley MicroStation, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
  • Ability to design and produce various PS&E in a team setting
  • Detail-oriented, professional attitude, good communication, self-starter
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills, and a desire to learn
