Job description

APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company looking to add a CNC Programmer/Operator to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to cut steel, aluminum, or plastic parts for injection molds. Keep reading for more details!

What your day will look like:
  • Program CNC mills using WORK-NC software
  • Use VISI CAD for boring mill programming as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, CAD data, GD&T, work orders, and engineering drawings
  • Set up CNC machines, tooling, holding devices, offsets, and cutting tools
  • Determine cutting paths, speeds, feeds, clamping methods, and tool selection
  • Machine steel, aluminum, and plastic parts for injection molds
  • Inspect finished parts, verify measurements, deburr, and prep work for assembly
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust/reprogram controls when needed
  • Complete production and quality documentation
  • Maintain equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and follow all safety procedures
What we are looking for:
  • High School Diploma required
  • 2–5 years of CNC programming and setup experience preferred
  • Experience cutting injection molds strongly preferred
  • WORK-NC programming experience required
  • VISI CAD experience is a plus, especially for boring mill operations
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
  • Ability to use shop equipment, controllers, and measuring tools
  • Must have required tools
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and wearing PPE
