Library Adult Programmer (Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week)
Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) is seeking an outgoing, energetic, and service-oriented professional to join our programming team at Sanders Library (10200 Johnson Drive, Sherwood, AR 72120). This position plays a key role in creating engaging experiences for a diverse adult audience and fostering meaningful community connections.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning, coordinating, and presenting in-library and outreach programs for adult patrons
- Creating and promoting programs through printed and digital marketing materials
- Collaborating with library staff to develop innovative programming opportunities
- Building and maintaining partnerships with community organizations and local stakeholders
- Providing excellent customer service at the public service desk
- Assisting patrons in person and by phone with information requests, technology questions, and library resources
- Performing general library duties, including workroom tasks and shelving materials
- Upholding library policies and maintaining a welcoming environment for all patrons
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, customer service, and technology skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse public and as part of a collaborative team
- Confidence in enforcing library policies and standards of conduct
- Experience working with adults is preferred
- Knowledge of popular adult literature and familiarity with current media and cultural trends is highly desirable
Schedule: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Some evening and Saturday hours are required.
