They work under the supervision of experienced developers, assisting with coding, debugging, testing, and documentation tasks while gaining practical experience. The role is designed to help them develop technical skills, understand software development processes, and prepare for more advanced programming positions.

What types of projects and tasks can I expect to work on as a programmer trainee?

As a Programmer Trainee, you will typically start by assisting with coding, debugging, and testing tasks under the guidance of more experienced developers. You'll often work on smaller modules or features within larger projects and may be tasked with maintaining documentation, fixing bugs, or writing unit tests. Collaboration with team members such as senior programmers, testers, and project managers is common, providing valuable exposure to the software development lifecycle. This hands-on involvement helps you build foundational technical skills and prepares you for more complex responsibilities as you grow in the role.

Job description

We are the global fitness powerhouse behind F45 Training, FS8, and VAURA Pilates. Spanning over 1,500 locations in more than 55 countries, we are on a mission to redefine the wellness industry by delivering high-energy, results-driven studio experiences to communities worldwide.
At FIT House of Brands, we live our brand. We are a collective of natural team players with big ideas, united by a passion for creating the world's greatest workouts. Whether we are supporting our massive global franchise network or innovating on the studio floor, our commitment to community is at the core of everything we do. If you're ready to crush your goals, elevate the member experience, and build a career that moves the world-you've found your fit.
The Training Manager is a pivotal role within the Pilates Athletics team, responsible for the hands-on delivery, coordination, and quality assurance of trainer education across the global network across our FS8 and VAURA brands. As the workout experience is our product, this role operates in close alignment with the Director of Athletics to protect programming intent, movement quality, and coaching standards at every studio.
This is a delivery-first, travel-intensive role: the Training Manager spends the majority of their time on the road, leading Trainer Inductions, evaluating trainers, supporting Head Trainers in person, and serving as a visible standard-bearer for what great FS8 and VAURA coaching looks and feels like. They are organized, passionate about the brand, and deeply committed to trainer development and studio consistency.
Travel Requirement and Work Schedule
  • This role requires approximately 80% travel. Frequent, ongoing travel to studios is core to the job and includes in-person trainer inductions, Head Trainer visits, quality control workshops, and regional workshops across the network. Candidates should be fully prepared for a travel-intensive schedule before applying.
  • Schedule flexibility is expected given the broad nature of the network and the demands of in-person training.
  • In weeks where HQ leads a trainer induction, the standard work schedule shifts to Thursday through Monday, with Tuesday and Wednesday as designated days off.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and Implement Education Strategies
At the direction of, and in close collaboration with the Director of Athletics, Pilates, the Training Manager will help design and execute comprehensive athletics education strategies that align with brand programming, business objectives, and regional needs. This includes identifying education gaps, evolving standards, and delivering targeted solutions for trainers and Head Trainers.
Trainer Inductions (in-person, studio-based)
  • Lead 2-3 trainer inductions per month, delivered on-site at studios
  • Maintain a comprehensive completion checklist for each trainee, tracking progress at every stage of induction
  • Coordinate all logistics with studios ahead of each induction, ensuring studios and trainees are fully prepared
  • Conduct a virtual evaluation of every trainer's final preview class before they are cleared to join the paid schedule
  • Maintain and evolve induction content as programming, equipment, and brand standards develop

Head Trainer Support
  • Manage a portfolio of up to 50 assigned Head Trainers, meeting with each regularly - including in-person studio visits - to monitor studio consistency and athletics standards
  • Equip Head Trainers with the tools, resources, and confidence to lead, evaluate, and develop their trainer teams effectively
  • Maintain proactive, ongoing communication with Head Trainers across the network
  • Assist in the bi-monthly delivery of Head Trainer Induction

Quality Control & Studio Support
  • Lead quality control workshops on-site for underperforming studios as needed, providing clear and actionable feedback
  • Support re-alignment efforts for studios that require additional education or standards correction
  • Conduct in-person studio evaluations and provide structured feedback on trainer delivery, programming execution, and class consistency

Quarterly Workshops & Continuing Education
  • Support the planning and execution of quarterly athletics workshops across the network
  • Contribute to Academy+ content, continuing education modules, and ongoing trainer development pathways
  • Assist with any athletics education rollouts, including new class types, equipment launches, and updated standards

HQ-Led Studio Openings
  • Provide on-the-ground support at HQ-led studio openings, representing athletics standards and ensuring new studios launch with confidence
  • Work closely with the broader Athletics and Operations teams during opening periods

Marketing Support
  • Assist with marketing initiatives that require athletics or education input, with training delivery always taking priority
  • Act as a brand representative for athletics standards in external-facing contexts when required

Staying Current
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices, and innovations

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience (preferred fields of study: Kinesiology, Anatomy & Physiology, and/or Health & Wellness)
  • At least 3 years of relevant industry experience and a strong passion for customer service
  • Pilates or reformer experience; understanding of the FS8 methodology is a significant advantage
  • Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail, particularly in managing checklists, timelines, and multi-studio coordination
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - this role requires the ability to build trust with trainers, Head Trainers, and franchise partners at every level
  • Comfortable delivering virtual evaluations and providing direct, constructive feedback
  • Able and willing to travel approximately 80% of the time for studio-based trainer inductions, Head Trainer visits, studio openings, quality control workshops, and regional workshops
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-moving, standards-driven environment

Benefits
  • Medical, Vision and Dental benefits
  • Competitive salary, based on experience
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Generous parental leave
  • Casual dress and laid-back work environment
  • Full membership to on-site FS8 and F45
  • Beautiful office with lots of parking :)
