Salary range: $CAN43.82/hour to $CAN46.74/hour after completing the 90-day probationary period

Your Role

Would you like to contribute to the reliability and safety of the Seaway's electrical infrastructure? As an Electrician, you will perform the installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of electrical systems and equipment. Through your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficient operation of the Seaway system.

Your responsibilities

  • Install, repair, maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment in buildings, structures, floating plant, and tunnels.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and associated control systems to support operational continuity.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance activities on electrical systems and equipment in accordance with established maintenance programs.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to electrical service calls, identifying and resolving issues.
  • Perform electrical work in accordance with applicable electrical codes, engineering standards, and technical specifications.

Your profile

  • High School Diploma and successful completion of an Electrician Apprenticeship Program or equivalent;
  • Provincial Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician or 442A Industrial Electrician in Ontario, or the equivalent Certificate of Qualification in Quebec);
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a licensed Electrician working with industrial electrical systems;
  • Knowledge of soft starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), Ethernet networks, remote I/O systems, and fibre optic communication systems;
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including ladder logic, IEC programming languages, and operator interface software;
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, regulations, procedures, and safe work practices related to the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing;
  • Valid driver's license (Class G in Ontario or Class 5 in Quebec) with an insurable driving record;
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Marine Transportation Security Clearance;
  • Ability and willingness to undergo a medical examination and functional capacity evaluation;
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, underground (including tunnels), near open water, and in varying weather conditions.
