Position:

CMM Programmer/Inspector

Reports to the Quality Manager.ย  The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer/Inspector will be responsible for writing CMM programs to inspect complex high precision parts in accordance with customer drawing requirements.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Define and establish part inspection processes that are cost effective and meet all quality requirements.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Using PCDMIS to generate CMM programs with and without cad models.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Inspect drawing dimensions and features using manual measuring equipment, i.e. Thread and bore micrometers, optical comparator, calipers, sine bar, profilometer etc.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Exceptional daily interpersonal communication skills, with machinists and management.

Required Skills

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  2 yearsโ€™ experience demonstrating strong ability in creating PC-DMIS or equivalent CMM programming

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Must be proficient at reading and understanding written shop processes, engineering blueprints, engineering change notices, work instructions, procedures and routers

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Must excel at understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, (ASME) Y14.5-2009

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Must have a good understanding of First Article Inspections per AS9102 requirements.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to interface effectively with machinists, customers, and management.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Competent using Excel and Word


Desired Skills

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  A minimum of 2 yearsโ€™ inspection experience is preferred.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience with any of the following software: PC-DMIS, Master Cam, Reflex, InspectionExpert

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience with calibration.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience with auditing.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย  Has worked in an AS9100 environment
