Position Summary
Credit One Bank is seeking an Assistant Vice President to lead the strategy, development, and operation of the enterprise developer platform. This role will oversee CI/CD pipelines, release engineering practices, developer tooling, and cloud-native deployment platforms that enable engineering teams to deliver software securely, reliably, and at scale. The AVP will build and lead a high-performing Platform Engineering organization responsible for developer productivity, release automation, and platform reliability across multiple technology stacks. This leader will partner with architecture, security, infrastructure, and application teams to drive modernization initiatives including GitOps adoption, infrastructure as code, and standardized deployment frameworks.
This role requires both technical depth and organizational leadership to evolve the bank's engineering platform into a scalable, secure, and self-service ecosystem for software delivery.
Essential Job Functions
Strategic Leadership
  • Define and execute the enterprise Platform Engineering strategy aligned with the Bank's technology modernization roadmap.
  • Build and scale a high-performing Platform Engineering team supporting developer productivity, CI/CD automation, and release engineering.
  • Partner with Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure leadership to establish platform standards and engineering governance.

Platform & DevOps Engineering
  • Own the design and operation of enterprise CI/CD platforms and release automation frameworks.
  • Standardize pipeline architecture, deployment patterns, and developer workflows.
  • Lead adoption of GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and containerized deployment models.

Developer Platform
  • Deliver an internal developer platform that enables self-service environments, automated builds, and standardized deployment pipelines.
  • Improve developer experience by reducing deployment friction and increasing engineering productivity.

Operational Excellence
  • Ensure release processes meet enterprise reliability, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Implement release quality controls, automated testing gates, and rollback strategies.
  • Establish metrics for deployment frequency, lead time, and failure recovery.

Modernization Initiatives
  • Drive modernization programs including:
  • Pipeline standardization
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • GitOps
  • Kubernetes-based deployment frameworks

Position Requirements
Technical Expertise
  • Deep expertise in CI/CD architecture and DevOps platform design
  • Experience building scalable engineering platforms supporting multi-team development environments
  • Strong experience with:

Version Control & SCM
  • Git-based workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based development)

Artifact Management
  • Nexus, Artifactory, or similar artifact repositories

Containerization & Platform Orchestration
  • Docker

Observability & Monitoring
  • Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or equivalent

Leadership & Strategic Skills
  • 10+ years experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering
  • 5+ years experience leading engineering teams
  • Experience leading multi-team or multi-product delivery environments
  • Proven ability to scale engineering platforms supporting large development organizations
  • Strong stakeholder management across architecture, infrastructure, and security teams
