Job description

Job Summary

Produces machined parts, products, or components by programming and operating computer numerical control (CNC) production equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for accurate and efficient engineered programming of CNC machines.
  • Develops, edits, or modifies operation sequences based on manufacturing sketches, blueprints, or schematics.
  • Develops set-up sheets, identifies tooling, tooling availability and responsible for tool life management.
  • Design or assist in the design of jigs, tools, standard holding fixtures utilizing 3D Model development.
  • Identify excessive cost, develop methods for cost reductions, and implement identified cost reductions.
  • Responsible for validation/integrity of CNC programs and DNC file system.
  • Provide cycle time estimations for costing and quoting.
  • Work closely with Setup Machinists or Senior Level Machinist once program is created so it can be set up and verified to ensure high quality parts are made.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior CNC programming (Unigraphics or Master CAM) experience is preferred.
