Job Description:

Summary:
Coordinates sheet metal production with Salvagnini system.
Responsibilities:
The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities that are expected of the programmer; however, additional duties may be assigned, as required.

  • Creates punch, Laser, SL4, and bender programs for all new parts.
  • Evaluates new software and / or processes.
  • Monitors scrap from each nest and submits material transfer form.
  • Schedules sheet metal production on the Salvagnini S4 punch, Laser, SL4 and P4 bender lines by creating nests.
  • Trains other programmers on new software or programming instructions.
  • Troubleshoots software problems with the equipment either directly or with the assistance of Salvagnini.

Preferred Education and Experience:
It is preferred that an individual in this position has attained a minimum of high school diploma to meet entry-level requirements. Education beyond the minimum is an added advantage for career development activities. The individual will have a minimum of 4 - 6 years industry experience or equivalent experience in a similar industry.

Successful job incumbents will consistently demonstrate competency when engaged in the following critical and important tasks:
Critical Tasks:

  • Coordinate sheet metal production with OPS system
  • Create punch,Laser,SL4 and bender programs for all new parts
  • Evaluate new software and / or processes
  • Monitor scrap from each nest and turn in material transfer form
  • Resolve parts issues for the Salvagnini with engineering (e.g. parts can`t be produced as drawn)
  • Schedule sheet metal production on the Salvagnini S4 punch, Laser ,SL4 & P4 bender lines by creating nests
  • Track and order raw materials from shear department on daily basis
  • Train other programmers on new software or programming instructions
  • Troubleshoot software problems with the equipment either directly or with the assistance of Salvagnini


Important Tasks:

  • Assume shop production duties of Salvagnini Programming Manager in his absence
  • Direct and lead the work of Salvagnini programmers
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Sit for up to 95 percent of the shift.
  • Work in conditions below 32 degrees or above 90 degrees on occasion.
