At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Could you be the full-time Supervison Control Center (SCC) System Engineering Manager in Toronto, ON we're looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical leadership and system engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and driven teammates.

You'll play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, fully integrated solutions that meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and Alstom's engineering excellence standards. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (including design, integration, testing, and commissioning), provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering activities, and much more.

You'll specifically take care of leading the System Engineering strategy across all ICC subsystems and interfaces, but also managing and developing a team of System Engineers.

We'll look to you for:

  • Leading the System Engineering strategy across all SCC subsystems, interfaces, and participating units.

  • Owning and updating System Engineering plans.

  • Ensuring alignment of the SCC System with customer requirements and defining the scope with the customer for upcoming baselines.

  • Driving system activities, managing technical dependencies, and resolving cross-disciplinary issues.

  • Overseeing System analysis activities and ensuring deliverables meet contractual and regulatory expectations.

  • Managing and developing a team of System Engineers while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

  • Coordinating cross-functional activities with other managers and technical experts.

  • Ensuring compliance with Alstom's engineering processes, cyber-security, safety case requirements, and regulations.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That's why we don't expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration is an asset.

  • Significant experience in engineering management on complex technical projects.

  • Strong background in System Engineering, requirements management, and the overall V cycle.

  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary and multi-site engineering teams.

  • Experience with railway ATS systems and safety-related systems with cyber-security constraints.

  • Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS or equivalent).

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Familiarity with SCRUM framework and IBM ALM tools (EWM, ETM) is a plus.

Things you'll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey - the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You'll also:

    • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous daily routines.

    • Work with new security standards for rail signalling.

    • Collaborate with transverse teams and supportive colleagues.

    • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility.

    • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment.

    • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.

    • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning programs.

    • Progress towards senior leadership roles or technical expert positions.

    • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
