Project Managerโ€“ Manufacturing

Location: Apple Grove, WV


About the Opportunity

We're looking for a hands-on Project Manager to support capital projects within a large-scale manufacturing facility. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the plant floor, managing multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating contractors, and driving projects from concept through commissioning.

This is not a desk-only engineering role. You'll spend significant time working alongside operations, maintenance, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital improvement projects from planning through startup and commissioning.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers during installation and construction activities.
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, procurement, and resource planning.
  • Work closely with maintenance, production, controls, and operations teams to minimize downtime during project execution.
  • Review engineering drawings, equipment layouts, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
  • Oversee equipment installations, machine upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Ensure projects comply with company safety standards and applicable engineering codes.
  • Provide regular project updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve reliability, productivity, and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience within a manufacturing, industrial, steel, chemical, energy, paper, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience managing multiple capital projects simultaneously.
  • Strong contractor and vendor management experience.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, and common project management tools is preferred.
