Provide leadership and initiative in the overall coordination of system requirements, program specifications, and code/unit test to meet business requirements/specifications for significant projects.


Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership and initiative to the development of deliverables for additional levels of testing and test execution, including system level and integration tests.ย 
  • Lead and/or assist in resolution of complex production problems.
  • Mentor development of those in less senior positions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Development & Customization:
  • Design, develop, and implement custom solutions within the Planview Portfolios platform to meet business requirements and improve portfolio management processes.
  • Customize Planview Portfolios features, including dashboards, reports, and workflows, to align with organizational needs and objectives.
  • System Integration:
  • Integrate Planview Portfolios with other enterprise systems and tools to ensure seamless data exchange and process automation.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and integration points to support effective data flow and system interoperability.
  • Support & Troubleshooting:
  • Provide technical support for Planview Portfolios users, addressing and resolving issues related to system functionality and data accuracy.
  • Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and user satisfaction.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
  • Develop and maintain advanced reports and dashboards within Planview Portfolios to provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze system usage and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Documentation & Training:
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, customizations, and integrations.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to ensure effective use of Planview Portfolios and its features.
  • Mentor development of those in less senior positions.
  • Collaboration & Project Management:
  • Work closely with product owners, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and deliver solutions on time and within budget.
  • Participate in project planning and contribute to the development of technical solutions and project documentation.


Additional Job Description

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field, and/or equivalent formal.ย 

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment.ย 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Skill in one or more programming languages used by FedEx. Good communication skills.
  • Requires IBM operating systems or microprocessor experience.
  • LMS experience. Requires experience in client/server technology, object oriented (OO) development, or case tools.
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of Planview Portfolios architecture, features, and customization capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Nice to have - Experience with SQL, data integration, and system administration.
  • Nice to have - Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python.

Location:

This position is eligible for remote work and may be located anywhere within the United States, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories. Preference will be given to candidates located in or near Pittsburgh, PA, or Memphis, TN. However, if you live within a 50-mile radius of a FedEx campus, you will be required to work at a FedEx campus location several times per week.
