WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead Cross-Channel Media StrategyOwn strategic media planning across paid social, search, video, and programmatic channels. Build integrated media strategies that align to client business goals, audience insights, and performance objectives while balancing brand and conversion priorities.
Bridge Media and Creative StrategyAct as a strategic connector between media, creative, and content teams to ensure campaigns are grounded in cohesive audience insights and messaging strategies. Partner closely with teams like Creative and Creator to help shape more thoughtful, insight-driven creative approaches beyond tactical trend-based recommendations.
Drive Strategic Client LeadershipServe as a trusted strategic partner to clients, confidently presenting media strategies, performance narratives, testing recommendations, and audience insights to both day-to-day contacts and executive stakeholders. Help clients understand not just what is happening, but why.
Translate Data Into Actionable InsightsLeverage quantitative and qualitative research, campaign performance data, audience insights, and measurement frameworks to inform media strategy and optimization recommendations. Connect performance back to broader business outcomes and future planning opportunities.
Develop Full-Funnel Media PlansBuild comprehensive media plans rooted in audience segmentation, channel roles, reach and frequency principles, testing frameworks, and campaign objectives. Partner with activation teams to ensure strategic recommendations are executable and scalable.
Identify Emerging OpportunitiesStay ahead of evolving media consumption trends, platform capabilities, consumer behaviors, and creative best practices. Bring proactive recommendations and innovative thinking to clients and internal teams.
Partner Cross-FunctionallyCollaborate closely with media, creative, and content partners to ensure campaigns are grounded in audience insights and business objectives. Help connect media strategy to creative development and performance outcomes, ensuring teams are aligned around a common strategic direction.
Support Strategic GrowthContribute to new business opportunities, internal thought leadership, and the continued evolution of New Engen's media strategy and planning capabilities.
Mentor and Elevate Team ThinkingProvide guidance, collaboration, and strategic support to junior team members and cross-functional partners. Help elevate strategic thinking, storytelling, and planning rigor across the broader team.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 5+ years of experience in media strategy, media planning, communications planning, or digital advertising within an agency or similarly fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of paid media channels including paid social, search, programmatic, video, and digital media planning fundamentals
  • Experience building media strategies grounded in audience insights, business objectives, and performance data
  • Strong grasp of media planning fundamentals including budget allocation, audience segmentation, channel roles, reach and frequency, testing frameworks, and performance evaluation
  • Familiarity with research, planning, and analytics tools such as MRI Simmons, SimilarWeb, Nielsen, Pathmatics, or similar platforms
  • Confident client-facing communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting recommendations and strategic narratives to senior stakeholders
  • Strong storytelling and narrative-building skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling presentations
  • Experience synthesizing qualitative and quantitative information into actionable strategic recommendations
  • Collaborative working style with the ability to navigate cross-functional environments and build strong relationships across teams
  • Highly curious, proactive, and comfortable operating in ambiguous or evolving environments
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to improve workflows, generate insights, or drive efficiencies
  • Agency experience strongly preferred
  • In addition to strong media strategy fundamentals, experience in one or more of the following areas is highly valued:
    • Creative Strategy & Brand Communications
      • Experience in account planning, brand strategy, or creative strategy with a track record of shaping campaign briefs, messaging frameworks, or communications plans
      • Ability to connect audience insights and brand positioning to media and channel decisions
      • Understanding of how creative, content, and messaging influence campaign performance and brand perception
    • Analytics & Measurement
      • Strong analytical fluency in attribution, incrementality testing, MMM, brand lift studies, or other measurement frameworks
      • Experience translating data and measurement outputs into strategic recommendations that inform planning and optimization
      • Comfort working with performance data across platforms and synthesizing findings for client and internal audiences
  • Location requirement: This is a hybrid role based in Seattle or Brooklyn (NYC), with ~2 days/week in-office.

Salary Range: $80,000-90,000 USD annual
The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidate's qualifications and experience uniquely.
