Job description

We are seeking an experienced, highly technical, customer-focused Principal Product Manager - Technical to lead the development of high scale programmatic reporting solutions. This role will play a pivotal part in helping advertisers measure, analyze, and optimize their campaigns across Amazon Ads, and supporting high volume partners with that same mission. AI is changing how advertising is planned, analyzed and optimized, and the foundation of this opportunity is data.

By delivering advertising reporting and actionable insights, our team empowers global advertisers to connect their campaign investments with real customer outcomes. By delivering that data programmatically through a thousand metrics and dimensions at high scale, we deliver the fundamental data powering AI agents, machine learning models, analytics engines and dashboards across the world. If you're passionate about building high-scale data products for technical users and developing solutions that impact millions of customers, this is the role for you.

As part of the Programmatic Reporting team, you will define the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of technical solutions designed to help advertisers and partners understand their advertising investments by delivering dozens of data sets through unified data interfaces. You will collaborate closely with engineering, solution architects, and go-to-market teams to build robust, programmatic data products. You will help advertisers understand the effectiveness of their campaigns while empowering tooling providers, and AI teams acquire the data they need to make rapid data-driven decisions.

Your responsibilities will include working backward from the customer and their engineering teams to identify needs, analyzing data and dogfooding our own products while partnering with our teams to build high scale, consistent and low latency data delivery engines at industry leading scale.
Amazon is investing heavily in building a world class advertising business and we are at the forefront of that explosive growth. We deliver campaign reporting for all of Amazon Ads and produce analytics and reporting insights that are used by advertisers to grow their business every day.

We are highly motivated and collaborative with an entrepreneurial spirit and agile bias for action. With a broad mandate to experiment and innovate, we are growing at an unprecedented rate with a seemingly endless range of new opportunities. We start with the customer and work backwards in everything we do, including advertising.

If you're interested in joining a rapidly growing team with a relentless focus on the customer, you've come to the right place.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering data products at scale, with strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills. They will be just as at home on a command line, writing curl requests, or using an agent to prototype a tool as they are writing epics or refining a sprint with a team.

They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling them to effectively influence stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration. This role will be open to Toronto or New York offices.
Key job responsibilities
Product Strategy and Vision: Define multi-year roadmap and investment priorities, working backwards from the needs of enterprise advertisers, third-party integrators, and internal tooling teams.
Technical Product Development: Partner with engineering and data teams to deliver high-scale, low-latency data delivery systems; author detailed product requirements, epics, and user stories.
Data Quality and Standards: Ensure freshness, accuracy, and consistency across all reporting surfaces; own the metrics and dimensions catalog and reporting data layer standards.
Customer and Developer Experience: Drive adoption through intuitive interfaces, high-quality documentation, and streamlined onboarding that minimizes time to first report.
Go-to-Market Execution: Lead product launches and deprecations; align GTM, partner, and solution architect teams on enablement and adoption strategies.
Emerging Capabilities: Incubate next-generation interface programs, including GenAI-powered reporting and data lake integrations.
About the team
The Measurement and Data Science (MADS) organization sits at the heart of Amazon Ads, responsible for data infrastructure, measurement, research and reporting that enables advertisers to understand and optimize their advertising investments.
Within MADS, the Programmatic Reporting team builds the data interfaces that power how advertisers and partners measure their Amazon Ads outcomes

We own Amazon Marketing Stream and the Reporting APIs, delivering accurate, consistent, and timely data at massive scale to advertisers and partners worldwide. Our work sits at the intersection of data engineering and developer experience while opening doors to GenAI-powered interfaces and data lake integrations. We move fast, think in systems, and obsess over data quality.
