Overview

Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider,ย is seekingย to hireย an exceptionalย Principalย Logic Design Engineerย to joinย ourย Silicon IP (SIP)ย teamย inย Hillsboro, Oregon.ย Candidates will be joiningย some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop productsย that make data faster and safer.ย 

In this role, the candidate will be reporting to the Director of Engineering as an individual contributor.ย As aย Principal Logic Design Engineer, youย will play a pivotal role inย theย micro-architecture andย design of ourย next-ย generationย high performance andย cutting-edgeย memory controllers for data centers and AI applications.ย This is a fast-growing market with high demand from tier-1 customers which gives ample opportunity for innovation and differentiation. Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for most office-based roles. Employees are encouraged to spend an average of at least three days per week onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.ย 

Responsibilities
  • Ownย micro-architectureย definitionย and RTL designย for critical blocks such as schedulers, command pipelines, coherency/ordering logic and system interfacesย 
  • Analyze performance, power, and area (PPA) trade-offs and drive design decisions based on quantitativeย dataย 
  • Collaborate closely withย verificationย team to shape test plans and improve verification coverageย 
  • Work withย physicalย design team to understand and resolve timing, power, and congestion challengesย 
  • Work withย verification team onย regression failure debugย and root cause, and provide RTL fixย if necessaryย 
  • Provideย technicalย support to FAE team onย pre-sales customer engagementsย 
  • Provideย technicalย support to AE team onย post-salesย customer deliveriesย 
Qualifications
  • Strong System Verilog/Verilog RTL design expertiseย 
  • Questa/Incisive/VCS simulator experienceย 
  • Python/Perl/TCLย scripting experienceย 
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independentlyย 
  • Solid communication and project management skillsย 
  • 10+ years of logic design experienceย (ASIC/FPGA)ย with BSEE, orย ย 
  • 8+ years of logic designย experienceย (ASIC/FPGA)ย with MSEEย 

Definite Plus:ย 

  • ASIC synthesis, timing constraint, CDC/RDC experienceย 
  • UVMย Verification experienceย 
  • Memory (HBM, LPDDR) expertiseย 
  • AMBA AXI or CHI design experienceย
