Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Extruder Machine Operator Specialist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining extrusion machinery used in plastics production. Your expertise will ensure smooth operation, high-quality output, and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor extruder machines to produce high-quality plastic products in accordance with specifications.
  • Conduct routine inspections of extrusion equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotic systems, and safety devices to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform precision measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, machine malfunctions, or process deviations by applying engineering troubleshooting techniques and industrial equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Maintain proper materials handling procedures, including loading raw materials with forklifts and managing inventory within the warehouse environment.
  • Follow safety protocols diligently while operating press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, and other manufacturing equipment to prevent accidents.
  • Collaborate with quality inspection teams to identify defects or inconsistencies in plastics extrusion products and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Assist in setup adjustments for plastics blow molding, injection molding, or extrusion processes to optimize efficiency and product quality.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities and maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Requirements

  • Mandatory experience in plastics production environment with plastics extrusion or plastics injection molding knowledge.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of industrial equipment such as extruders, press brake machines, CNC lathes, and robotic systems.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation control.
  • Bilingual is required (English and Spanish)
  • Ability to perform dimensional measurements accurately using precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes.
  • Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment including forklifts; forklift certification is preferred.
  • Basic math skills for calculating measurements, tolerances, and process adjustments.
