Job description

Job Title: Engineer I, Equipment

Location: Queen Creek, AZ

Job Summary: The Equipment Engineer I will support overall efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing process by supporting related equipment from program and design to installation, commissioning and production.  This role will manage equipment set-up schedules, contribute to preventive maintenance standards and work with other engineers and technicians to resolve abnormalities in equipment operation, including root cause analysis and identification, and corrective action implementation and validation.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with LGES partners and equipment vendors.
  • Equipment investment and schedule management.
  • Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Line of Balance (LOB) after improvements are made.
  • Install/modify/analyze/repair/test new tools/machines/equipment and technology utilized in the winder, assembly, formation processes of battery manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with other teams to improve process quality and conduct equipment modification and improvement activities.
  • Manage plans for daily maintenance activities.
  • Complete daily documentation and audits of equipment performance.
  • Maintain cleanliness at worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards. 
  • Ensure work is completed in a safe manner and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 1 year in equipment engineering experience in a production/plant environment.
    • Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering or related field required.
    • PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) experience * Preferred but not required.
    • Six Sigma certification * Preferred but not required.
    • DOE (Design of experiments) * Preferred but not required.
    • Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a period of up to 12 hours.
    • Must be able to perform the following over the course of up to 12 hours per day

Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Data analysis.
  • Korean Bilingual Required
  • CAD (Computer-aided design) and coding * Preferred but not required.
