The salary range for this position is CAD $27.26/Hr. - CAD $29.16/Hr.

Within the context of a client and family centred care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Program Support Assistant performs a variety of administrative support functions such as inputting client information into computerized client information systems, word processing, composing and signing correspondence, typing reports and documents, answers general inquiries related to programs and policies, booking appointments and meetings. Assists the community/public health nurse, allied health professionals, and other team members in the organization and operation of designated program clinics/services.


Education & Experience

  • Grade 12.
  • Graduation from an Office Administration program supplemented by one (1) year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid B.C. Driver's license and local area travel requiring the use of a personal vehicle may be required and will be noted on the posting.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in relevant software. (Word, Excel, graphic applications).
  • Ability to keyboard 5,000 keystrokes per hour.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with others.
  • Ability to be sensitive, tactful and diplomatic with clients and the public.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to compile information.
  • Ability to perform relevant calculations.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
