Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, the Security Supervisor will be responsible for the overall security operation that involves security personnel at the Olin Corporation job site. The Security Supervisor will coordinate scheduling and timekeeping and provide directions to the security team. Other duties include interacting with the Company security representative on a daily basis and taking guidance with regard to operational standards and requirements.
This position requires a high attention to detail and accuracy, excellent customer service skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build effective partnerships with the client and customers. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but the company may identify other duties of the position. These responsibilities may differ depending on business necessities and client requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of prior experience in military, law enforcement, corrections, or private security
  • 1 year in position(s) of increasing responsibility that required sound decision making and incident/event management
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to proficiently speak, read, understand and write English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead with professionalism, respect and integrity at all times
  • State Unarmed Security Officer License or able to obtain
  • As a condition of employment, must be able to successfully complete a criminal background investigation, drug screen, and a post-offer physical.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of security services and developing Security Post Orders
  • Knowledge and ability to develop and maintain a Security Officer Training Program
  • Advanced skills utilizing common office related computer programs plus ability to learn proprietary programs unique to client

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Olin policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
  • Assigned to the Olin TAC Building, will serve as the on-site supervisory authority.
  • Schedule security personnel for emergency needs, disability replacements and overtime to provide required job coverage.
  • Be knowledgeable of and perform all duties associated with the Security Officer position.
  • Directly supervise the Security Officers.
  • Serves as liaison between the Security Contractor and Company Representative.
  • Manages the disciplinary process.
  • Maintain full working knowledge of DUS and site-specific policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), approved facility security plan, and applicable laws.
  • Ensures the Security Officers are knowledgeable, trained and capable of carrying out duties professionally and efficiently.
  • Review and validate security rounds
  • Help maintain operations continuity and ensures security posts are staffed at all times.
  • Monitor badging and access control needs
  • Reviews the daily reports and informs the Site Security Representative of any incidents.
  • Conduct the weekly roster and schedule of personnel.
  • Coordinate and/or enforce a variety of security services and activities at the assigned job site.
  • Prepare, update and/or oversee security procedures for security officers and tenants.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct training for the security workforce using written procedures and safety rules in order to increase job knowledge and expertise.
  • Assist with the interviewing, hiring, and onboarding process.
  • Utilize clear and appropriate communication skills while providing information to others, mediating disputes, investigating incidents, and performing other related tasks.
  • Assist with the management of escalated security or emergency situations as requested.
  • Ensure notification is made to law enforcement personnel and other emergency responders to permit a timely response to any emergency within the area of responsibility.
  • Ability to handle stressful or crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Promote a respectful, professional and collaborative workplace at all times.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle in a variety of settings and varying weather conditions.
  • May be required to respond to urgent matters on weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The employee will be required to work at the client's job site and may be assigned to confined workspaces such as a security guard post, security gate, or patrol vehicles. The majority of the work is performed in an industrial setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee's work requires routine sitting, walking, standing, bending, and occasionally carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to visually monitor multiple screens simultaneously. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies. Candidate/incumbent will be required to successfully complete a post-offer pre-hire physical.
