Job description

We are STS Systems Defense, LLC a consulting and contracting firm specializing in technical solutions servicing several federal agencies and military installations across the nation. We are seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to support our ongoing mission at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. This role requires an active TS/SCI Clearance.
What You'll Do:
  • Support as the Contractor Special Security Representative (CSSR), whose primary function is to provide multi-disciplined security guidance to a customer's facility and organization. The position will provide "day-to-day" support for Collateral, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • Perform classification reviews of inbound and outbound correspondence.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a document accountability database and associated correspondence; processing inbound and outbound classified mail and receipt records; perform destruction of classified materials.
  • Process magnetic media for accountability; reproduction support for classified materials; maintain various daily logs for a variety of administrative functions associated with document control.
  • Assist in the processing of inbound data and outbound data transfer files; transfer electronic data files to internal customers; maintain an extensive customer database point of contact listing.
  • Assist with researching, processing, filing, and maintaining inbound and outbound visit notices; escorting facility visitors and maintains associated logs; assist in the preparation of facility access control badges.
  • Conduct entry and exit inspections and assist in the maintenance of facility access control entry systems, to include visitor control.
  • Perform data entry to the Personnel Access Security System database and maintain all customer sponsored billets and quota information.
  • Assist in maintaining personnel security files for all personnel of the supported element; follow and enforce the customer's SOPs; provide support for the security awareness and education programs; perform miscellaneous administrative support functions.
  • As directed by the site lead and/or the Senior Security Representative, review, track, and monitor security clearance processing activities with appropriate government personnel and contractors to achieve appropriate clearance actions.
  • Conduct analysis of contract performance and the security requirement sections of the DOD Contract Security Classification Specifications ensuring the specifications are met.
  • Work with program managers and operators to determine contractor access controls.
  • Prepare and/or process inbound and outbound classified mail, faxes, courier packages and receipts.

What You Bring:
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • 2+ years of experience of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out assignments and developing skills by performing limited independent work.
  • 2+ years of experience in principles, concepts, policies, practices, and methods of security administration in one or more of the security functional specialties. (personnel, physical, industrial etc.)
  • Experience in reviewing reports of personnel investigations to identify the presence or absence of derogatory information and, with more experienced specialists, reviewing the impact of various kinds of derogatory information on the granting, denying, or revoking of security clearances.
  • Experience in conducting onsite physical or industrial security inspections or assistance visits and assisting in the evaluation of findings and development of recommendations for changes.
  • Experience reviewing requests for information security guidance or assistance, identifying the nature of issues involved, and researching guidelines to identify the general policies and procedures that apply to their solutions.
  • High school diploma required.
