Description:

About Metrc

Metrc is the leading provider of track-and-trace systems for regulated industries. We build technology that helps governments and businesses operate transparently, efficiently, and securely. As we scale, we’re looking for executional leaders who thrive in fast-paced environments and bring clarity to complexity.

The Role

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) at Metrc, you’ll be the operational lead for product delivery—partnering with Product Managers to turn strategy into execution. You’ll drive cross-functional alignment, manage dependencies, and ensure our teams deliver with speed, quality, and predictability. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a Kanban-based delivery model, excels at cross-team coordination, and is passionate about enabling engineering teams to do their best work.

Core Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Partner with Product Managers to translate product strategy into executable delivery plans
  • Own the Kanban flow—monitor WIP, cycle time, and throughput to ensure smooth delivery
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (standups, retros, planning) with Engineering Leads
  • Ensure alignment between requirements, development outputs, and test coverage
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and timelines across Engineering, QA, DevOps, and external teams
  • Unblock work and escalate risks to maintain delivery momentum
  • Maintain delivery dashboards and provide proactive updates to stakeholders
  • Analyze delivery metrics to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement
  • Champion best practices in agile execution, risk management, and team collaboration
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of experience in technical program management or delivery leadership in a software/SaaS environment
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Kanban methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills—able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and delivery dashboards
  • Familiarity with APIs, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and system integrations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., Cannabis, FinTech, Healthcare)
  • Certifications such as PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe, or PMP
  • Experience supporting platform teams or multi-tenant implementations
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and release management

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • Predictable, high-quality delivery of product initiatives
  • Clear visibility into delivery health and risks
  • Strong alignment between Product, Engineering, and Business
  • Continuous improvement in team flow and execution efficiency
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • In-office and remote position
  • Frequently required to sit
  • Frequently required to talk or hear
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard and mouse.
