Job Purpose
The project manager I is part of the Project Management Office and will be responsible for several individual projects that are large in scope. The project manager I will be responsible to plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of assigned projects. The project manager I will work closely with upper management to ensure transparency regarding the health of the scope and direction of each project, as well as other departments for support.

Education / Training
Required:
• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Business or Program Management or equivalent;
• Experience using in MS-Project, Primavera or other project management scheduling tool;
• Minimum 10 years' experience on capital intensive, highly engineering, long life cycle product line;
Preferred:
• Masters;
• Exposure to ERP systems;
• PMP certified highly preferred;
• Locomotive knowledge preferred.
Key Job Elements
• Manage multiple projects of Locomotive Builds, Research and Development, Rebuild and Repower, Aftermarket products and Power Products that range is scope of small to NPI;
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget;
• Organize structure and manage project teams to meet the needs of the project;
• Lead the development of a detailed project plan;
• Develop and communicate project scope, goals and deliverables, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring transparency;
• Ensure resource availability and allocation;
• Controls project costs and manage the project budget;
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs;
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques;
• Report and escalate to management as needed;
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks;
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation;
• Communicate project status with the organization and the end customer as defined by the contract;
• Establish and maintain relationships all stakeholder within the project reach;
• Ensures all deliverables of the contract are met;
• Accept special assignments as needed;
• Travel as required to perform duties (20-30%).
