Job Description

In support of the North America growth agenda, the Program Manager. Manages the implementation of large, complex new business start-up projects. Supports Business Development by de-risking new business opportunities through execution. Manages a portfolio of projects with a specific set of business objectives not achievable through management as individual projects. Ensures Ops Excellence and Project Delivery strategies are incorporated to all North America startups for large, high risk and complexity projects/programs that they lead. Deploy the strategic objectives set by the Project Delivery/Ops Excellence Leadership. Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced Project Managers in the execution of sales to delivery and DePICT tools and processes and quality standards of Project Delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the project/program executes the required deliverables, to the required scope and profile, and within the specified time and cost, and in alignment with customer expectations.
  • Manage the overall planning, control, status reporting, stability and delivery of large, high risk and high complexity projects and programs.
  • Manage scope and challenge scope changes and project acceptance criteria to ensure benefit realization.
  • Drive resolution of conflicts, issues and risks.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal and customer) with clear communication and feedback to ensure project efforts meet customer and business needs.
  • Drive commercial and project reviews to ensure alignment with business case expectations.
  • Govern and support execution of sales to delivery and DePICT processes and tools.
  • Ensure sales to delivery compliance through adherence to Planview lifecycle throughout the project/program.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement changes.
  • Coach and mentor Project Managers within the project team/PD function.
  • Facilitate Project Assurance Reviews and Lessons Learned Reviews for Small - Medium projects that are led by others.
  • Ensure the smooth and seamless handover to Operations post go-live.
  • Function as a subject matter expert in a specific area (i.e. automation, specific IT systems, inventory control, process engineering and improvement, solution design, procurement, value added services, etc.).
  • Act as the primary customer interface for large, high risk high complexity projects/programs.
  • Negotiate clear success criteria to ensure alignment on project goals and closure expectations.
  • Ensure project strategy and control measures are aligned, agreed and executed.
  • Drive joint Steering Team agendas and meetings, including escalation of critical risks and issues.
  • Coordinate development of detailed Cutover Plan with the customer, to ensure all activities are incorporated and understood, with escalation agreed and communication established throughout.

  • Represent Project Delivery competency in Pursuit Presentations for prospective new customers.
  • Act as a champion in execution and governance of the sales to delivery and DePICT methodologies.
  • Ensure robust risk management through Project Assurance and DePICT Risk Assessment.
  • Conduct periodic health checks and quality management reviews to review performance, identifying points of risk and making recommendations for improvements that lead to risk minimization and successful project delivery.
  • Deliver best practice project documentation, completed to quality standards, kept up to date, available throughout the project and maintained in Planview.
  • Review business case and challenge the benefit realization.
  • Deploy previous lessons learned output and feedback to drive continuous improvement.


Required Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree or 7-10 years of experience in related field required
  • Professional project management certification e.g. PMI PMP preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience project management experience required
  • 3-5 years' experience in people management preferred
  • 3-5 years in supply chain or operations management experience required
  • 2+ years in warehouse management systems (WMS) or Transportation Management systems (TMS) experience required preferred
  • Strong management and organizational skills required
  • Ability to lead and manage a cross country, multicultural team required
  • DePICT project management methodology required
  • Sales to delivery process experience required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to communicate effectively at all organization levels required
  • Strong skills in the use of MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Functional expertise in at least one additional subject matter (i.e. automation, specific IT systems, inventory control, process engineering and improvement, solution design, procurement, value added services, etc.) preferred
  • Good process improvement techniques required
