ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Coordinator to manage and oversee our precast construction projects (commercial, industrial and infrastructure). In this role, you will work closely with engineering, fabrication, and client teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position may require complete oversight of aspects of the project scope or coordination of various smaller projects, as determined by the project requirements/ Project Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Aid in the pursuit of projects through the bid process. This may include assisting with proposal writing, gathering information or other estimating tasks as assigned. In conjunction with the project manager, maintain general production and installation schedules and perform quantity budget verifications.
  • Assist project kick off, including leading required scope preplanning, contact submissions, schedules for production and installation teams, safety plans, eco plans and quality plans. Ensure project drawings contain production and installation details, specs, coding and have been distributed to supervisors and crews.
  • Ensure an understanding of project scope and output. Coordinate procurement and arrival on time of materials for site, production and installation. Verify job site quantities. This is done either through internal surveys, external surveys, or plan take-offs.
  • Manage Request for Information (RFI) tracking, change orders, and project close-out documents. Ensure close-out items are completed including documentation handovers and post-constitution inspections and reports, are completed, approved and submitted. Complete project reviews and provide management a close out review upon season or project completion.
  • Abide by and enforce all safety and environmental aspects on projects and at worksites in accordance with current OH&S and environmental regulations. Promote Amrize's safety culture.
  • Project coordination, including attending site meetings, client and field communications, identifying and pricing work extra to the contract, coordinating and scheduling the project with the customer and resolving any disputes involving the customer and any other third parties.
  • Collaborate with the project team including project support staff and collaborating with supervisors and crews. Direct liaison with customers, consultants and owners. Ensure that client satisfaction has been achieved.
  • Assist the Project Manager with monthly progress invoices, reporting monthly accruals and reviewing and approving supplier and subcontractor invoices. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure cash collections and other accounting targets are being achieved.
  • Monitor project costs and financial reports. Provide feedback to operations, sales and estimating departments.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering with a C.E.T designation is preferred.  A combination of educational background and skills/field experience will be considered. 
Required Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of project coordination experience, estimating experience preferred.  
Required Technical Experience: Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, BIM, and Bid2Win estimating software.  


Additional Requirements: 

  • Experience managing projects valued at $ 500,000 and above.
  • General understanding of construction accounting.
  • Proficiency in reading structural drawings/blueprints.
  • Experience coordinating precast construction or similar building envelope projects.
  • Knowledge of pre-stressed concrete design principles and concrete technology will be considered an asset.
  • Practical understanding of precast concrete fabrication methods.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
