Job Description: Overview

The Project Manager leads the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of engineering projects while balancing technical quality with project and people leadership. This role manages project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations; coordinates multidisciplinary teams; develops strong client and agency relationships; and supports the growth and development of team members. The Project Manager is accountable for responsive, high-quality project execution and financial stewardship and demonstrates leadership consistent with Pape-Dawson's Excellence in Action Leadership Principles.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate project teams to deliver high-quality work in accordance with agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Manage project execution, including scopes, budgets, schedules, risks, deliverables, and resource coordination across concurrent assignments.
  • Provide technical leadership and quality oversight for project deliverables, including plans, reports, calculations, specifications, estimates, and other technical documentation as applicable.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary team members, subconsultants, clients, agencies, and other stakeholders to resolve issues, maintain alignment, and support timely project delivery.
  • Build and maintain trusted client and stakeholder relationships through responsive communication, sound judgment, and solution-oriented problem solving.
  • Support business development and pursuit activities, including scope development, proposals, qualifications, interviews, teaming, and other client development efforts as applicable.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, designers, analysts, and other technical staff through day-to-day direction, feedback, and professional development support.
  • Demonstrate accountability for recurring responsibilities, deadlines, team productivity, responsiveness, quality, and financial stewardship while fostering strong working relationships.
  • Lead traffic engineering studies and design packages, including signals, signing, pavement markings, and traffic control plans.
  • Oversee traffic impact, operational, safety, and corridor analyses and related technical reports.
  • Direct signal timing and coordination, turn-lane and intersection improvements, and multimodal accommodations.
  • Coordinate traffic engineering work with roadway, drainage, structures, traffic operations, and planning disciplines.
  • Ensure traffic analyses and design deliverables conform to applicable standards and agency requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years (6 preferred) managing projects from conception through completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, budgets, schedules, teams, deliverables, and client expectations.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
