The Opportunity
As a Continuous Improvement and Business Process Specialist, you will drive process improvement and business process excellence across the Service Unit by identifying, designing, implementing, and sustaining process improvements that enhance quality, safety, customer satisfaction, productivity, and profitability. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve operational performance through Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Daily Management, and Leadership Standard Work practices. The role involves developing and maintaining business processes, monitoring and improving performance through KPI management, supporting planning and scheduling activities, maintaining process documentation, and facilitating adoption of new ways of working. You will help address process gaps, support corrective actions, evaluate emerging technologies including AI-based solutions, and contribute to improved operational effectiveness, quality performance, and service delivery that support reliable power system operations and ongoing business improvement.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Identify, prioritize, and implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with quality, cost, and schedule goals.
  • Design, develop, and deploy new or improved business processes across the Service Unit.
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost, and profitability objectives.
  • Partner with Project Management, Field Operations, and leadership teams to review performance metrics and support improvement initiatives.
  • Lead implementation and sustainment of Leadership Standard Work, Daily Management practices, and KPI reporting routines.
  • Coordinate deployment and maintenance of the Lighthouse operational excellence framework.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, process maps, and audit documentation.
  • Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies, including AI-based solutions, to improve productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Quality Management, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting operational excellence, business process management, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Experience developing and evaluating KPIs, process maps, standard operating procedures, and business process improvements.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with SAP, Power BI, Microsoft Power Automate, and AI-driven productivity solutions preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Practitioner, or equivalent continuous improvement certification preferred.
