Our Intern program is a paid opportunity that allows participants to contribute to the organization's success while at the same time applying learnings from the classroom. This semester we will continue with a hybrid program and will offer each participant the opportunity to gain in-office experience for approximately 3-days a week. Interns are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.

Intern Expectations:

All Interns are expected to work 24-29.9 hours a week during the session. While each intern will be working with a specific division, they will have the opportunity to learn about other areas within Excel, through lunch and learns held throughout the semester.

Important Dates:

Our Fall Program runs from Monday, September 21st, 2026 through Thursday, December 10th, 2026.

Office Hours:

  • 9:00 am‐6:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday OR as agreed upon with advisor. Days in office must be coordinated with Advisor's schedules.

Our Intern must:

  • Be available to work under 30 hours per week.
  • Be available to report to the New York office approximately 3-days a week.
  • Have a senior standing in college (must have completed your junior year of undergrad)

OR

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school

OR

  • Have a bachelor's or postgraduate degree.

Interview Process:

  • Applications will close on August 14th, 2026
  • If selected, the expectation is that offers will be extended mid to late August.
  • The program will begin on September 21st, 2026.

Events Intern Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Will provide sales meeting support including preparing pre-call research, company briefs, and post-meeting recap notes and action items.
  • Will assist with lead generation and prospecting efforts to identify new event production and business development opportunities.
  • Will support the management and maintenance of CRM data by entering and updating contacts, accounts, opportunities, and activity records.
  • Will conduct research on the live events, production, and experiential marketing landscape to identify prospective clients, partners, and areas for future growth.
  • Will use AI to intelligently elevate and support work on a daily basis.
  • Will gain an understanding of how live events support sponsorship activation, brand marketing, client engagement, and overall business objectives.
  • Will assist the Events team with the planning, coordination, and execution of live events, experiential marketing programs, and hospitality initiatives.
  • Will gain a thorough understanding of the end-to-end event planning and production process, supporting event logistics, venue coordination, vendor communications, and onsite execution from concept through post-event reconciliation.
  • Will learn the fundamentals of event budgeting, expense tracking, vendor management, and financial reconciliation.
  • Will collaborate with internal teams including Partnerships, Creative, Brand Marketing, and Client Services while helping coordinate client, talent, venue, and vendor relationships to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Will assist in preparing event presentations, proposals, travel itineraries, rooming lists, transportation manifests, staffing plans, and post-event recap materials.
  • Will support the planning and facilitation of internal and client meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and maintaining project status documents.
  • Will support teammates across the Events group to ensure exceptional client service and best-in-class event execution.
  • Will have access to the Excel team for industry advice and learnings.
  • May occasionally be assigned projects outside the Events group to gain exposure to other divisions within Excel.

The pay for this position is: $17.00 per hour. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the California and New York City Salary Transparency Law.
