Job description

The VSSQ Advanced Phase Program Manager is responsible for leading the convergence of the Perceived Quality & Dimensional Synthesis, based on the application of the technical standards and methodologies related to Appearance such as Gaps & Flush nominal and tolerances in order to reach the quality targets based on our best know-how.
The field of application covers all vehicle (Top Hats) of the program (the 1st launcher and all potential coming reskins and derivated).
This activity starts at the very beginning of the program and is handed over to the another team to cover the detailed execution and launch phase in the plants.
Therefore the position is in charge to converge with the program the budget (Manpower and dedicated means) and the planning to cover all the phases.
This role serves as the leader of a team of engineers and engages with a program dedicated team of peers to ensure the convergence of all the performances of the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Program team Management: ensure management, validation and escalation if required of the issues and proposed actions on all the Program Top Hats until hand over with the project dedicated team
  • Perceived Quality (PQ) Management:
    • ensure PQ improvement needs & risks identification in order to validate the Project targets/concepts
    • manage the gaps and flush and convergence with style & technical partners
    • manage design complexity evaluations and program validations
  • Technical Standards: manage tech Standards respect with Styling, Architecture and Product, Manufacturing Depts & Suppliers.
  • Budget: ensure the allocation of the Head Count budget for the Depts needs to cover all program activities
  • Schedule: define the team activities time frame, in compliance with the Program Schedule,
  • Technical Reviews: organize and lead in order to bottom the proper status & escalations, program milestone assessments

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Dimensional Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related, technical field
  • Minimum of 8 years of automotive development experience - preferably including experience with body in white or equipment parts
  • Work effectively and manage direct and non-direct reports across multiple unique disciplines
  • Must be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and a self-directed process thinker with well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Ability to simplify complex engineering topics, develop and deliver a presentation concisely
  • Passion for cars & trucks, motorsports / vehicle recreation and continuous innovation
