Job description

For over 125 years, Thomas has been the definitive resource for industrial buyers and suppliers across North America. Today, thomasnet.com is the leading digital platform for industrial product discovery and supplier selection connecting more than 1.4 million active buyers including engineers, procurement managers, and MRO professionals with over 500,000 North American manufacturers and distributors across 70,000 product categories. No other platform in the industrial space operates at this depth or scale. Thomas Analytics is the data and intelligence function at the heart of that network - owning the analytical infrastructure that connects buyer demand to supplier performance and drives Thomas's growth strategy.

Thomas is seeking a Manager or Staff-level Data Analyst, Pricing and Yield Management to manage its supplier-side yield, monetization and pricing analytics practice. This role reports to the Director of Data Engineering and Analytics, based in Bethesda, MD. The person in this role will systematically unlock the revenue that already lives inside the Thomas network, through yield scoring, pricing optimization, keyword monetization, and supplier retention analytics. This is a builder role and a senior partnership role at the same time. You will work directly with our General Manager, Product, Operations and Engineering Directors who run the business on data, serving as the analytical voice in the room, generating insights quickly, and connecting the dots across buyer demand, supplier performance, and revenue trends to drive faster decisions. You are equally comfortable shaping strategy and getting hands-on to build the model or dashboard that makes it real.

How You'll Contribute:

Supplier Yield and Ad Monetization Build yield scoring, ad performance dashboards, and pricing infrastructure. Surface pricing and inventory gaps before they appear in aggregate reporting.

  • Pricing Strategy and Monetization Analysis: Own the analytical framework behind supplier advertising pricing and incentive programs. Quantify the revenue impact of discount and rebate programs
  • Category and Keyword Performance:  Build the category-level data model across Thomas's industrial verticals and identify under-monetized keyword inventory. Translate findings into expansion and pricing recommendations
  • Retention, Churn, and Win-Back Analytics: Build predictive churn models using propensity and velocity scoring. Develop cohort analyses to surface early retention signals and provide prioritized recommendations to sales, customer success, and product
  • AI-Powered Analytics and Experimentation: Apply AI and machine learning to build smarter pricing and retention models. Design and execute A/B tests across pricing and supplier engagement interventions

What You'll Bring to Xometry:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering) with 7+ years of experience, OR Master's degree with 5+ years
  • 6 or more years in pricing analytics, yield management, or growth analytics at a marketplace, ad platform, or performance-based business. Direct experience with lead-gen, pay-per-lead, or auction-based pricing models is strongly preferred
  • Background in ad tech, programmatic advertising, marketplace monetization, or two-sided platform economics
  • Hands-on machine learning experience in a production environment, including classification, regression, and time series forecasting. You have built models that shipped, not just prototypes
  • Demonstrated experience building churn propensity models, velocity scoring, and cohort retention analysis. You know how to find risk early and translate it into action
  • Strong SQL and fluency with Snowflake, dbt, and Looker. You build the data models and dashboards yourself and do not wait for someone else to pull the data
  • Hands-on A/B testing experience including test design, sample sizing, and interpreting results in a live marketplace or ad auction environment
  • Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate analysis, augment modeling workflows, and generate insights at scale
  • Exceptional communication and data storytelling skills - able to translate complex pricing and marketplace dynamics into clear narratives for general managers and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven stakeholder partner across Sale, finance, and product. You earn trust through rigor and consistency, not just output
  • Documented, specific revenue impact from analytical work you personally owned and delivered
  • A structured problem-solver comfortable diagnosing ambiguous marketplace and liquidity challenges and building the analytical framework to address them

Preferred

  • B2B marketplace or supplier-side monetization experience
  • Churn and renewal modeling for subscription-based marketplace or SaaS products
  • Experience with ad server platforms and CRM systems in a monetization context

The estimated base salary range for new hires into this role is $135,000-160,000 annually + bonus depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location. We also offer a competitive benefits package, including 401(k) match, medical, dental and vision insurance; life and disability insurance; generous paid time off including vacation, sick leave, floating and fixed holidays, maternity and bonding leave; EAP, other wellbeing resources; and much more.
