Why We Need You:

PEMCO has a dynamic and challenging opportunity for a Program Manager to join our community. In this role, you will be responsible for key aspects of product or program development, design specifications, vendor research, conceptualization, and program delivery. The position works with cross-functional teams in the technical design, development, prototyping and completion of strategic programs, including managing several project teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate with a variety of IT and business teams throughout the life of the program and projects. Coach and mentor others on the team.
  • Develop program strategy and design, gain approval for design from sponsors; develop enterprise-wide project plans to support strategy and design.
  • Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables and effectively leverage PM tools to facilitate project success.
  • Facilitate end user training as needed. Ensure technical and user documentation is completed as needed. Manage project costs, including audit of vendor invoices to ensure accurate billing. Address elevated billing issues when they arise.
  • Holistically identify and manage requirements across projects that may be in conflict with each other or that have dependencies on each other.
  • Lead cross-functional program teams and facilitate the communication and interaction among the functional representatives.
  • Lead vendor selection process through RFPs and other methods, manage vendors effectively through vendor selection, SOW negotiation, and ensure vendors successfully meet their project deliverables.
  • Manage cross-departmental and company-wide projects, with effective communications to all levels of the organization including Executives.
  • Work effectively with resource managers to identify project resources. Define and assign project roles, monitor progress from initiation through delivery, and interface with internal customers.
  • Balance and coordinate resource needs across multiple teams to ensure successful project delivery and maximum utilization of all resources.

What You'll Bring:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field) is required.
  • 6 years of experience in Information Technology or business-related roles with increasing levels of responsibility, with at least 6 years leading or managing projects is required.
  • Solid technical background, with understanding of the technologies leveraged by the associated IT Unit.
  • Ability to thrive in complex, fast paced environment with limited documentation.
  • Expect daily/hourly collaboration (paired development) with other developers, BAs and/or QAs.
  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access is required.
  • Business Environment: Has a thorough understanding of our industry, the relevant business landscape, trends in growth and insurance environments; the ability to spot early indicators of change and apply strategies to adapt quickly.
  • Problem Solver: Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve complex unstructured problems quickly, efficiently, and collaboratively.
  • Analytical and data-driven: Thinks analytically; a structured thinker who can put complex ideas into clear frameworks; uses data to conduct root cause analysis and develops high quality, consumable, and consistent metrics that drive strategic objectives and priorities.

Compensation:

The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual's qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

  • Greater Seattle area target pay range: $154,845-$189,255.  The full pay range is $129,038-$215,063
  • Outside greater Seattle area target pay range: $136,654-$167,022.  The full pay range is $113,879-$189,797.

Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle.

Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.

Benefits:

Regular part-time PEMCO employees working at least 24 hours per week and regular full-time PEMCO employees are eligible to elect coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans for themselves and their eligible family members with generous employer premium cost shares. In addition, as a benefits-eligible employee, you are:

  • covered by employer-paid basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance policies as well as long- and short-term disability benefit coverages.
  • eligible to participate in PEMCO's 401(k) plan which includes a generous employer match (2 for 1 on the first 6% employee pre-tax and/or Roth deferral, up to federal maximums). 

PEMCO provides the following paid leave programs for benefits-eligible employees in their first year of PEMCO employment:

  • Vacation accrues at a rate of 10 days for new hires, and increases based on a schedule to a maximum annual accrual of 25 days based on tenure.
  • Granted four (4) personal days immediately upon hire.
  • Paid holidays for the eight (8) holidays observed by PEMCO throughout the calendar year.
  • Granted up to ten (10) days of sick leave immediately upon hire (pro-rated based on hire date and full-time/part-time status), which is approximately 28 hours more per year than the Washington state-required accrual.
  • In addition, PEMCO provides paid time off for bereavement, jury duty, and employee volunteering in the community.
