Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking an experienced individual for a Program Manager 1 to provide program leadership to our Advanced Programs team, on-site at our Promontory, Utah offices.

Overview

This Program Manager (PM) position resides within the Tactical Products & Services portfolio and will be responsible for management of multiple contracts and contract types. The Tactical Products & Services portfolio is diverse and dynamic and includes management of both production and development programs in technology areas including aerial payloads, aging and surveillance, flares and countermeasures, next generation energetics, and more. The PM will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team to deliver expected technical, financial, and schedule performance in one or more of these technology areas. The PM will establish and maintain relationships with customers, prime contractors, industry partners, and suppliers. The position is fast paced with multiple programs running simultaneously and includes opportunities for interacting with Propulsion Systems leadership in support of individual and professional goals. It is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated individual who wants to leverage their strong technical base and enhance their business and leadership understanding.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, propose and execute on discretionary and funded programs. Manage all elements including cost, schedule, scope, quality, and technical progress.

  • Interface, communicate and collaborate with functional organizations and leadership as needed to execute on programs.

  • Provide overall leadership and ownership for program success.

  • Establish working relationships with external customers communicating marketing, proposal, and program information.

  • Manage proposal preparation and submission.

  • Market NG technical capabilities both internally and externally. Translate difficult to understand technical achievements into business plans.

  • Grow NG organic capabilities into new products.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics, or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of aerospace/defense technical experience, knowledge of business development, with 3 years program/project management experience strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership and customers

  • Earned Value Management certification and/or Cost Account Manager experience

  • Prior experience working with a diverse team to accomplish program goals

  • Familiarity with business tools and processes used at NG PS Strong technical background in solid rocket motors and related fields and technologies

  • Familiarity with various contract types, including FFP, CPFF, T&M, etc.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of time

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET level security clearance

  • US Citizenship required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics

  • Expertise in solid rocket motor design and energetic materials, along with a working knowledge of safety and environmental requirements associated with rocket motor manufacturing.

  • Role requires interface with technical personnel internally and externally and working with Safety, Finance, Contracts, and Supply Chain Management organizations to effectively execute programs

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
