The Project Manager will report to the Sr Project Manager.

Job Summary

EP² is a custom manufacturer for power management systems for commercial and utility industries including control enclosures, protective relay panels, and control systems for power generation, transmission, and distribution. The project manager is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget for projects ensuring they meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Communicate, interact, and collaborate with customers
  • Coordinate and complete projects while managing scope, schedule, and budget
  • Understand customer specifications and requirements
  • Manage changes to project scope, project schedule, and project budget
  • Deliver quality drawing packages to the shop and work closely with production to manufacture a quality product
  • Problem-solve issues that arise and effectively make decisions
  • Ensure EP² quality standards are met
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships
  • Delegate tasks to engineering specialists and engineering team
  • Track project performance and perform lessons learned
  • Work safely near energized equipment
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or project management related field with 6 years of PM experience or bachelor’s degree in engineering or project management related field with 4 years of experience and Project Management Professional Certification preferred.
  • May substitute the above requirement for 11+ years of experience in project management or 9 years of experience with Project Management Professional Certification preferred.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and more difficult projects with minimal supervision of a more senior project manager
  • Able to develop and maintain strong relationship with Electrical Power Products clients and vendors
  • Ability to mentor Project Manager I/II with small projects and daily tasks
  • Has a firm understanding of all project processes and how to perform them efficiently
  • Understands all tasks involved in projects and able to assist other Project Managers as necessary
  • Understands project financials and accounting practices
  • Trained in Quality Assurance in all departments
  • Assist in process and product improvements
  • Expert in QMS system and able to train others
  • Knowledge of CAD programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Proficient in Office programs and Google Workspace
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, organizational skills, leadership skills, and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to oversee a small project or phase of a larger project under direct supervision of a more senior project manager
  • Has sufficient industry knowledge to solve problems and answer client questions
  • Understands all tasks involved in projects
  • Able to effectively communicate both written and verbally
  • Full understanding of EP²’s quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail

Physical Requirements

  • Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for the regular operation of a computer.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly.
  • Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Regular exposure to typical manufacturing production physical hazards.
