Mission

Genesys Works is a nonprofit organization that trains and employs high school seniors to perform professional services for major corporations. Our mission is to provide pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experiences, and impactful relationships.

Purpose of Position

The Senior Manager of Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for driving cross-functional efficiency, ensuring compliance, and optimizing systems that support program delivery, workforce development, and client engagement. This role oversees operational infrastructure across programs, talent, payroll, data systems, and corporate partnerships, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Success in this role requires strong leadership, systems thinking, and collaboration across internal teams, corporate partners, and external stakeholders to enhance student outcomes, client satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Operations & Program Operations Management

  • Lead and oversee operational execution across student recruitment, training, workforce development, and employment programs.
  • Partner with program and executive leadership to design, implement, and continuously improve scalable operational processes.
  • Establish/Maintain and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and reporting systems to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment of timelines, deliverables, and organizational priorities.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including Department of Labor requirements related to student employment.
  • Oversee contracts, documentation, audits, and operational policies to meet organizational and network standards.
  • Lead annual audits and ensure accurate documentation of site visits, employment records, and contracts.
  • Maintain and update internal handbooks, policies, and procedural documentation.

Financial Operations & Accounts Management

  • Oversee payroll operations for interns, students, and program staff, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
  • Support with accounts receivable and billing processes in collaboration with Corporate Partnership Team, and National Finance, ensuring accurate invoicing and minimal outstanding balances.
  • Serve as an escalation point for financial discrepancies and process improvements.

Intern Human Resources Operations

  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for interns
  • Ensure compliance with HR processes, including I-9 verification and employment documentation.
  • Support leadership in workforce planning and staff development initiatives.
  • Lead onboarding systems and training for High School and Post Secondary Success Interns and support with Intern Supervisor Onboarding/Training Programs

Data Systems & Technology Management

  • Oversee data integrity across CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), payroll platforms, and operational databases.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and reliability of data and reporting.
  • Develop and deliver training on systems, tools, and data processes.
  • Serve as primary liaison with IT/Managed Service Provider for troubleshooting and system improvements.

Client, Contract & Partnership Management

  • Oversee contract lifecycle management, including execution, renewal, compliance, and documentation.
  • Partner with Corporate Partnerships team to support new client onboarding and account expansion.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the Corporate Partnerships team, serving as an operational liaison to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Support client billing, reporting, and communication processes.

Operational Infrastructure & Logistics

  • Oversee onboarding/offboarding systems for interns and students, ensuring seamless and compliant processes.
  • Manage intern transportation systems and logistics, including vendor coordination and budget oversight.
  • Supervise operational staff and ensure effective execution of day-to-day processes.

Team Leadership & Organizational Support

  • Lead, coach, and develop operations staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Plan and manage organization-wide meetings, trainings, and professional development initiatives.
  • Serve as a cross-functional leader, stepping in to support critical initiatives and organizational needs.
  • Act as a backup to senior leadership when needed.

Qualifications

  • Deep commitment to organizational mission and student impact
  • Bachelors degree preferred; candidates with 810 years of relevant professional experience may be considered in place of a degree
  • 58+ years of experience in operations, program management, or business administration
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with cross-functional teams
  • Strong knowledge of business operations, HR processes, compliance, and financial systems
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), payroll systems, and data analytics tools
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including students, staff, and corporate partners
  • High level of accountability, professionalism, and sound judgment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in workforce development, education, or nonprofit environments
  • Experience with process improvement and systems implementation
  • Background in client/account management or corporate partnerships

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
