Job description

Product Launch/ Program Engineer

QQE is seeking an experienced Engineer who can turn complex new business into capable, documented, production-ready manufacturing processes. In this role, you'll own the full launch lifecycle, driving APQP, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing suppliers and capital equipment timelines and serving as a trusted customer interface through PPAP approval and stable production. If you enjoy building structure, solving technical problems, and moving programs from concept to launch with confidence, this role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Program Launch and Management
    • Lead new product launches from award through production.
    • Establish and manage program plans, gate/phase reviews and open-issue tracking to keep launches on schedule.
    • Serve as the primary program interface with the customer during launch.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • APQP and Quality Planning
    • Drive the APQP process, including process flow diagrams, PFMEAs and control plans.
    • Manage PPAP submission and approval.
    • Ensure launch processes are capable, documented, and compliant with customer and industry quality standards.
  • Supplier and Capital Equipment Management
    • Manage suppliers and outside-processing sources supporting new programs, including tooling and fixture vendors.
    • Own capital equipment procurement, installation timelines, and qualification through to production readiness.
    • Track and coordinate long-lead items.
  • Estimating and Feasibility
    • Partner with the quoting and programming teams to assess feasibility and provide accurate quotes for complex parts and new business.
    • Lead design-for-manufacturing reviews with customers and internal teams.
  • Documenting and Reporting
    • Create and maintain launch documentation, work instructions and SOPs.
    • Report program status, launch metrics and financial performance to leadership.

What You'll Bring:

Education and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, including program/product management for new product launches (automotive and/or aerospace preferred).
  • Working knowledge of APQP and the core quality tools (PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, FAI/AS9102).
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as IATF 1649 and/or AS9100
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in CAD (Fusion) software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems; JobBOSS experience is a plus.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate a project from concept and quote through a validated, production-ready launch.
  • Experience managing suppliers and coordinating capital equipment installation and qualification timelines.
  • Strong cross-functional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent programs with minimal oversight.

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive and/or aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Precision CNC machining, job shop, or complex part manufacturing background.
  • Familiarity with Fusion or similar CAD tools.
  • Experience mentoring engineering staff, co-ops, or cross-functional teams.

Ready to Apply?

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who likes solving practical problems, aligning teams, and seeing programs move from quote to validated production. If you're ready to lead technical launches, build strong manufacturing processes, and help us deliver for our customers, we'd love to hear from you!Â
