Position Summary
The Student Support & Response Coordinator provides case management, administrative, and programmatic support for University processes related to Title IX, bias incidents, and student leaves of absence. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Community & Belonging, the Student Support & Response Coordinator works closely with the Title IX Coordinator, Bias Incident Committee, Student Affairs, and other campus partners to ensure students receive timely, coordinated, and compassionate support while University policies and procedures are administered consistently and effectively.
The Student Support & Response Coordinator serves as an important point of connection for students navigating sensitive or complex circumstances. The position coordinates communications, meetings, documentation, referrals, and follow-up; maintains accurate and confidential records; and helps students understand available resources, options, and next steps.
This position may required non-standard work hours including nights and weekends.

Principal Accountabilities
Title IX Office Support
  • Provide administrative and case management support to the Title IX Coordinator on reports involving sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, relationship violence, stalking, and other concerns addressed under University policy.
  • Receive and respond to reports and inquiries involving potential Title IX concerns and facilitate appropriate follow-up and referral.
  • Assist individuals in understanding the University's Title IX process, reporting options, supportive measures, and available resources.
  • Coordinate meetings between the Title IX Coordinator and students, advisors, employees, and other involved parties.
  • Assist with intake processes and ensure appropriate documentation and information are collected and maintained.
  • Coordinate and track supportive measures, including academic, housing, employment, safety, and other accommodations, in partnership with appropriate University offices.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, notices, meeting materials, and other case-related documentation under the direction of the Title IX Coordinator.
  • Maintain case files and case management systems and monitor deadlines, required follow-up, and case milestones.
  • Provide students with information about campus and community resources and facilitate referrals when appropriate.
  • Assist the Title IX Coordinator with educational programs, prevention initiatives, communications, and other Title IX compliance activities.
  • Support the collection and organization of information needed for institutional reporting, trend analysis, and assessment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and appropriately handle highly sensitive student information.

Bias Incident Committee Support
  • Provide administrative and case coordination support to the University's Bias Incident Committee and its leadership.
  • Receive and appropriately route reports of potential bias incidents in accordance with University procedures.
  • Coordinate intake meetings and follow-up conversations with students and other members of the University community.
  • Maintain confidential records of reported incidents, actions taken, referrals, and case outcomes.
  • Track cases to ensure timely review, communication, and follow-up.
  • Assist individuals in understanding the University's bias incident process and available support resources.
  • Coordinate referrals to appropriate University departments as needed.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, case summaries, correspondence, and other materials for committee review.
  • Support the identification and analysis of trends in reported incidents to inform education, prevention, and campus climate initiatives.
  • Assist with educational programming, communications, and resources designed to promote an inclusive and respectful campus environment.

Student Leave Management and Return-to-Campus Support
  • Coordinate the administrative process for student leaves of absence, including personal, medical, and other applicable leave categories.
  • Serve as a primary resource for students considering or requesting a leave, helping them understand the process, requirements, timelines, and potential implications.
  • Guide students through required documentation and approvals and coordinate with appropriate campus offices to facilitate the leave process.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student leaves and monitor relevant deadlines and follow-up requirements.
  • Communicate with students throughout the leave process to ensure they understand their status and next steps.
  • Coordinate with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Financial Aid, the Registrar, Residence Life, Counseling Services, Health Services, and other University offices as appropriate.
  • Support students preparing to return from leave by coordinating required documentation, approvals, resources, and transition planning.
  • Help identify barriers that may affect a student's successful return and connect students with appropriate University resources.
  • Track leave and return trends and assist in evaluating opportunities to improve processes and the student experience.
  • Ensure leave practices are administered consistently and in accordance with University policies and applicable requirements.

General Case Management, Records, and Process Improvement
  • Maintain organized, accurate, timely, and confidential case records across assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems for cases, deadlines, communications, referrals, and outcomes.
  • Identify cases requiring escalation and promptly bring significant or time-sensitive concerns to appropriate University leadership.
  • Facilitate coordination among University offices when a student's circumstances involve multiple areas of support.
  • Assist in reviewing and improving policies, procedures, forms, communications, and workflows related to assigned responsibilities.
  • Develop reports and summaries that identify trends, service needs, process gaps, and opportunities for prevention or improvement.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant University policies and applicable federal and state requirements.
  • Participate in professional development and training related to Title IX, bias response, student support, case management, and leave administration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING: This position is best served by an individual with:
  • Bachelor's degree in higher education, student affairs, human resources, social sciences, counseling, legal studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in higher education, student affairs, human resources, compliance, case management, student support, or a related area.
  • Knowledge of Title IX, FERPA, ADA/Section 504, and other laws and regulations relevant to higher education student support.
  • Experience supporting Title IX, student conduct, bias response, student care, or related processes is preferred.
