Job description

We are expanding our Service business to complement our core product portfolio, including installation, preventative maintenance, and extended warranty offerings. This role will serve as the foundational finance partner, responsible for designing and implementing the financial and commercial backbone of the business-from costing and pricing to quoting, systems, and performance management. This is a high-impact, build-from-scratch role with direct visibility to senior leadership and meaningful influence on long-term growth and profitability.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

Build the Financial Model for Services: Refine the economic model across installation, maintenance, and warranty offerings. Develop rationales, revenue models, and scaling scenarios. Establish assumptions for attachment rates, service mix, and labor models (internal vs. contracted).

Design Costing & Profitability Frameworks: Develop bottom-up cost models including internal labor and third-party vendor structures, travel, complexity, and site-specific costs, warranty reserves and lifecycle service costs. Establish standard costing, margin targets, and profitability guardrails.

Contribute to the Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement service pricing models, including cost-plus and value-based approaches, multi-year service and warranty bundles, regional pricing structures and adders. Partner with Sales to ensure pricing balances price positioning and profitability.

Enable Systems & Processes (Quote-to-Cash): . Partner with IT and Sales Ops to implement service capabilities across CPQ, ERP, and Salesforce, define scalable processes and offerings, and support early deal structuring to drive consistency and margin integrity.

Drive Operating Rhythm & Performance Management: Establish dashboards and KPIs, including pipeline, bookings, revenue, and margin, Service attachment rates and penetration, Warranty performance vs. assumptions. Provide insights to continuously improve pricing, win rates, and profitability.

Budgeting and forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the Service business, operational expenses and financial performance tracking vs. plan. Provide regular updates and projections to support resource prioritization and investment planning.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. (MBA or CFA preferred).

  • 8+ years of experience in commercial finance, pricing, or business partnering roles. Strong experience in: cost modeling and profitability analysis, pricing strategy and developing rationale for initiatives.

  • Experience with service, aftermarket, or labor-driven business models preferred. Strong experience with CPQ, ERP, and Salesforce systems is a plus.

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical and forecasting skills. Proficiency in financial planning tools, ERP systems and Excel.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey financial insights to both finance and non-finance collaborators.

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:

$89,300.00 - $165,800.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
