This will be a hybrid schedule after the initial training period, 3 days in Novi and 2 days remote


The successful Account Financial Manager (AFM) will ensure sound financial decisions and drive financial improvement in the pre-production and post-production phases of our business. This includes responsibility for Business Planning, Product Costing, Product Pricing, Profit Enhancement and Customer Interface on financial issues.

Responsibilities:

·      Manage multiple programs throughout the launch and production phase.

·      Interface with Customer: submitting quotes, negotiating pricing, explain product costs to our customer's Financial Analysts, attend cross-functional customer meetings and meet deadlines as provided by the customer.

·      Develop New Business Plans which assess Return on Investment, Return on Sales, EBITA and internal cost strategy.

·      Work with project teams to develop, track and implement plans to improve profitability.

·      Develop competitive pricing strategies with full understanding of internal costs and impacts.

·      Work with a complex bill of material to understand and product and plant cost structures.

·      Work with a variety of manufacturing processes and related costs.

·      Attend cross functional project team meetings, meet deliverables as assigned by project team.

·      Track, communicate and follow-up on open financial issues until they are resolved.

·      Perform monthly financial updates for top management.

·      Track program spending, provide Plant Controllers with monthly forecast

·      Support annual budget preparations for pre-production and production business case information

·      Review, track and communicate all pricing changes from the customer to the plant locations

·      Meet or exceed key financial measures.

·      Ad hoc analysis as requested internally or externally.

·      Initiate product cost reduction efforts.

Key Must Have’s:

·      Business or Finance Degree HIGHLY preferred A Technical education such as Engineering or Project Management will also be considered.– years of experience can out weight a degree.

·      An advanced Degree (MBA) and/or Professional Accreditation (CPA or CMA) is preferred.

·      Automotive industry experience a must.

o   A minimum of five (5) years +/- of experience related to Financial Management or Project Management in a Manufacturing environment. Experience in the automotive business is mandatory

o   Commodity Instrument Panels, Floor consoles or Interior trim

o   They will consider any commodity – so long as it is COMPLEX in manufacturing nature

§  For example, an interior Door handle pull would be simple, but an instrument panel is complex in nature of how it gets manufactured.

·      Must have strong communication skill set and excellent customer interfacing skills.

·      Must have strong finance background.

·      Strong Excel, Very strong analytical skill set.

·      Understand manufacturing plans and be able to interface with the plants.

o   Be able to understand a variety of manufacturing processes. (in order to come up with accurate quotes.)

·      From a quote standpoint, be able to do ground up costing right thru to sending quotes to customer.

·      Handle customer negotiations.

o   Work well with other teams and multiple teams to achieve profitability on programs, Engineering, Program Management, and Purchasing, international team experience a plus but not mandatory.

·      Being respectful while challenging their counterparts on program profitability.

·      This person must be very financially minded first and foremost, then juggling or program managing the financial of various programs.

·      Be able to hold firm on financial decisions made to ensure it benefits the company.

·      Financial oversight on OEM automotive programs.

·      Understand complex BOMs.

·      Ability to communicate effectively to Customers, non-financial stakeholders and executive leadership.

·      Ford OEM experience a HUGE plus.

    • They will be working on a Ford program
    • GM or Toyota program experience a plus also.
