Description

The Development & Program Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the growth and sustainability of Friends of Leaps & Bounds. This position is responsible for assisting with supporting community outreach, volunteer coordination, and contributing to administrative operations.


The Development & Program Assistant also plays a key role in building and assisting with the volunteer program, helping to recruit, coordinate, and retain volunteers who support the organization's mission. The ideal candidate is passionate about our cause, highly organized, community-oriented, and eager to help make an impact.


Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 DOE


Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, onboard, and provide administrative support and coordinate training with the ranch volunteer coordinator.
  • Assist with volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation and hours.
  • Coordinate volunteer recognition initiatives to maintain high levels of engagement, in collaboration with the ranch volunteer coordinator and marketing.
  • Promote engagement for future employment.
  • Actively seek and identify opportunities for the nonprofit to attend or speak at community events.
  • Represent the organization at offsite events, promoting our programs and building relationships with community member, in collaboration with marketing.
  • Coordinate the Beyond Therapy Program's registration, scheduling, payment, etc.
  • Provide administrative support to senior staff as needed.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and other relevant documents.
  • Manage and update the organization's database with accurate and current information.
  • Donor Management data management
  • Donor Thank you & Receipt production
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in nonprofit development, event planning, or volunteer coordination
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with youth programming, merchandise sales, or CRM systems a plus
  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive, team-player attitude

This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours to attend events and meetings, and will require local travel for community events and offsite outreach opportunities.
