Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of professional experience in an academic or business environment.
  • Experience in event planning, promotion experience or the hospitality industry is highly desired.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Room Reservation Software.
  • Experience with basic A/V equipment
  • Experience in, or familiarity with higher education, fund-raising, and/or experience working with high-level executives is a plus.

Job Specific Required Qualifications
  • Working knowledge and proven experience working with an array of technology and software including Microsoft 365.
  • Requires initiative and the ability to work under pressure while handling multiple projects accurately, independently, and productively, with extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with staff, meet deadlines, and demonstrate aptitude in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • A professional, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts required (early mornings, evenings, and/or weekend hours).
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and move boxes weighing up to 40-50 pounds for various event needs.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb ladders or step stools as required for event installation and decor setup.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks using hands and arms, including assembling displays, hanging signage, arranging decor, and handling event equipment.
  • Ability to load, unload, and transport event materials between storage areas, vehicles, and event locations.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor venues and event spaces.
  • Ability to occasionally travel outside of the Flint area in Michigan.
