Job description

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is seeking a Hospitalist Program Medical Director to lead a dynamic team. This role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, offering an opportunity for professional growth within a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will contribute to better care and strong community connections in Cedar Rapids.

Practice Info

  • Join a team of 14 physicians and 8 advanced practice providers at Mercy Medical Center.
  • The team has partnered with Mercy Medical Center since 2015.
  • The team is trusted and consulted on many hospital-wide initiatives.
  • Collaboration with nurses and specialists throughout the hospital is valued.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and leadership to a team of seasoned providers.
  • Collaborate with both Sound Physicians leaders, as well as hospital leaders, in meeting key goals in care delivery and quality metrics.

Compensation

  • Market-competitive compensation package, including bonus incentives and a monthly stipend.

Shift & Schedule

  • A combination of clinical and administrative time.
  • 8 clinical shifts per month.
  • 84 hours a month of protected administrative time.

Requirements

  • Board-certified/eligible in family or internal medicine.
  • Minimum of two years of hospital medicine leadership experience in an Associate Medical Director or Director-level role.
