Location: Rohingya Culture Center, 2740 W. Devon Ave. Chicago, IL 60659
Schedule / Duration: 40 hours a week
Starting Salary: $50,000
Overtime Eligible: No (Exempt)
Supervised by: Executive Director, Assistant Director

Rohingya Culture Center Background: 

The Rohingya Culture Center (RCC) was founded in 2016 in the heart of Chicago’s West Ridge/West Rogers Park neighborhood to meet the needs of the city’s growing Rohingya refugee population. Since 2010, over 600 Rohingya families have resettled in Chicago, and RCC has become a vital resource for them, offering language classes, employment support, youth programs, and access to social services. RCC serves not only the Rohingya but also other refugee and immigrant communities seeking assistance.
Job Overview:
The Program Director oversees programs and operations at the Rohingya Culture Center. This role works closely with the Executive Director, Assistant Director, and the Senior Case Manager. Responsible for strategic execution, cross-functional coordination, and internal infrastructure across multiple programs. 

Major Responsibilities:
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage staff members across several programs,  providing day-to-day operational oversight and ongoing leadership support.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, funder requirements, and internal policies.
  • Report on major grants and funding streams, ensuring full compliance and accurate reporting on strict deadlines.
  • Plan and organize program-specific events, organizational events, and advocacy efforts.
  • Develop and implement internal systems to streamline workflows, improve accountability, and support organizational growth while also supporting staff.
  • Serve as a key advisor and direct support to executive leadership; manage calendars, communications, stakeholder engagement, and high-level administrative tasks.
  • Mediate interpersonal and operational challenges and maintain a productive and collaborative team culture.
  • Direct all HR functions including hiring, onboarding, payroll (ADP), benefits coordination, employee relations, and timekeeping systems
  • Support fundraising efforts and develop ideas to assist in growth of the organization.
  • Plan and facilitate staff meetings, board meetings, and organizational collaborations, driving strategic initiatives.
  • Support long-term planning and infrastructure development for organizational sustainability.
  • Additional administrative duties as needed. 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership, Social Services, or a related field.
  • 2 - 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations.
  • Bilingual strongly preferred.
Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.
  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
  • Able to manage confidential information properly and securely.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially when working with data, forms, and reports.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and experience using a CRM. 
Working Environment:
  • Requires occasional local travel to attend community outreach activities and community events.
  • This role is based on-site in an office setting. 
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
