Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Variable based upon clinical hours; approximately $80,000–$120,000 annually
Hours: 40 hours per week
Education: Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) required
License: Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in Utah
Work Authorization: United States required


Position Overview

The Utah Center for Evidence-Based Treatment (UCEBT) is seeking a licensed or license-eligible Psychologist Clinician to join our Trauma, Stress & Resilience (TSR) Program.

We are particularly interested in psychologists who have experience working with children and adolescents, as well as clinicians with specialized training or experience in psychological assessment and EMDR.

The successful candidate will provide evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy services to clients experiencing trauma-related concerns, stress, adjustment difficulties, and other complex mental health conditions. Depending on the clinician's interests and expertise, there may also be opportunities to participate in UCEBT's other clinical programs, including Assessment & Testing, Anxiety & Mood, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical judgment, interpersonal warmth, openness to feedback, and an ongoing commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.


Preferred Areas of Expertise

We are especially interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Child and adolescent psychology
  • Trauma-focused treatment for children, adolescents, and families
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Psychological and diagnostic assessment
  • ADHD, autism, learning, cognitive, personality, or emotional/behavioral assessment
  • Evidence-based trauma treatments
  • Treatment of PTSD and complex trauma
  • Anxiety, mood, adjustment, and stress-related disorders
  • Parent consultation and family-based interventions
  • Evidence-based treatment of complex clinical presentations

Experience providing both psychological assessment and psychotherapy is strongly preferred.


Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
  • Licensed as a psychologist in Utah or eligible to obtain Utah licensure
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience working with children and adolescents
  • Training or experience in psychological assessment strongly preferred
  • Training, certification, or experience providing EMDR preferred
  • Formal training and expertise in evidence-based psychological treatments
  • Knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnoses and diagnostic formulation
  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Maintain a caseload consistent with UCEBT full-time clinician expectations, generally 18–24 direct clinical hours per week
  • Provide evidence-based individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and/or families based on areas of competency and interest
  • Provide trauma-focused assessment and treatment through the Trauma, Stress & Resilience Program
  • Conduct psychological and diagnostic assessments when within the clinician's training and competency
  • Provide EMDR and/or other evidence-based trauma interventions when appropriately trained
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Use outcome measures and ongoing assessment to guide treatment
  • Maintain clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participate in clinical consultation and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with referring providers, families, schools, and other professionals when clinically appropriate and properly authorized
  • Provide consultation regarding complex trauma and other specialty clinical concerns within areas of competency
  • Maintain ethical, legal, and professional standards in all clinical activities


Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Trauma, Stress & Resilience consultation team
  • Participate in at least one additional UCEBT clinical program when appropriate based on expertise, interest, and center needs
  • Engage in community outreach, including professional presentations, trainings, consultation, or collaboration with community partners
  • Provide short-term EAP services as needed to support caseload balance
  • Serve as a clinical representative on administrative or quality-improvement initiatives when appropriate
  • Support trainees, postdoctoral fellows, and other clinicians through consultation when appropriate
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development
  • Maintain individualized self-care practices with support from supervisors and colleagues
  • Complete all charting and clinical documentation within established UCEBT timelines
  • Fulfill applicable on-site clinician responsibilities to support consultation, collaboration, and trainee development

UCEBT's Trauma, Stress & Resilience (TSR) Program provides evidence-based assessment, treatment, and consultation for individuals experiencing trauma-related concerns, significant stress, adjustment difficulties, and other complex psychological presentations.

Our clinicians work collaboratively to provide individualized treatment grounded in current psychological science. The program values comprehensive case conceptualization, evidence-based intervention, interdisciplinary consultation, and thoughtful treatment planning.
