Associate Residency Program Director ? Family Medicine

Location: WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital ? Lebanon, PA
Employment Type: Full-Time

WellSpan Health, a mission-driven, physician-led integrated health system serving communities across Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Associate Residency Program Director to join our Family Medicine Residency team at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.

In this vital leadership role, you will collaborate closely with the Residency Program Director to enhance resident education, oversee inpatient services, and foster a culture of academic excellence. You?ll have the opportunity to mentor and teach MD and DO residents and medical students, participate in teaching rounds, and maintain a thriving outpatient practice.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. degree with active Pennsylvania medical license 
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a faculty member in a residency program 
  • Strong teaching, communication, and organizational skills

Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Assists with reviews of the quality of resident education and makes changes as necessary.
  • Provides family medicine primary care services within WMG (this would include THFPC).
  • Provides in-hospital patient care and consultations as required. Serves as attending physician on the inpatient service.
  • Supervises and teaches residents and medical students.
  • Participates in teaching rounds and consultations to other services.
  • Assists with resident recruitment and evaluation.
  • Participates in research and other scholarly activities.
Common Expectations:
  • Participates in Medical Staff activities as required and/or as requested.
  • Observes the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Hospital and the Medical Staff.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required
Licenses:
  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required
Courses and Training:
  • Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice, or Board eligible. Upon Hire Required or
  • Completion of a Family Practice residency. Upon Hire Required and
  • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of York Hospital. Upon Hire Required
