About You
STIHL is looking for an Agriculture Business Development Manager to join our Virginia Beach team. We are looking for a strategic relationship builder who can identify and develop new Ag-centric channel expansion opportunities (Deere, Kubota, and other farm and specialty retailers) while managing day-to-day partnerships with Ag, Turf, and Specialty retail groups-supporting leadership meetings, coordinating communication strategies, and driving sales growth across both existing and new channels
Purpose
To support the Business Development Department in identifying and developing additional Ag-centric (Deere, Kubota, etc.) channel expansion and sales opportunities - both within current channels and within new ones. The "Ag & Specialty channel" describes retailers within Turf, Tractor and Specialty categories. This position will manage day-to-day relationships with leadership of new and existing Ag-focused and Specialty customer retailer groups within the Ag and Turf care channel, including supporting and planning leadership meetings and events, as well as managing communication strategy as needed to grow sales and cultivate relationships with these national Farm, Ag and Specialty groups.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify and analyze opportunities for retail growth in existing Ag & Turf category channels.
  • Identify and analyze new specialty / hybrid channels to expand into for the retailing of STIHL products, in brick and mortar, warehouse and online channels.
  • Manage communication and relationships with owners and leadership teams within national partner groups within the Ag, Turf and Specialty channels.
  • Provide strategic sales programs, initiatives and timelines to capture incremental business in new and existing Ag, Turf and Specialty accounts.
  • Work with Senior Sales Analyst to provide scorecards and updates outlining new business growth pertaining to the relevant national partners.
  • Support cross-departmental projects with Ecommerce, Marketing and others to assist national Ag, Turf and Specialty channel accounts with their questions and projects surrounding growth initiatives.
  • Organize Leadership Meetings, agenda formulation, location reservations and necessary PowerPoint coordination (when applicable) for these national partners in the Ag, Turf and Specialty channel.
  • Attend trade shows, meetings and national events pertaining to national partners classified within the Ag, Turf and Specialty channels.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of field sales experience in the Ag and Turf channel is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills required
  • 50% travel on average required
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once with excellent follow-through and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work with STIHL's Branch and Distributor leadership across the country to coordinate national initiatives with National Partners within the Ag and Turf channel
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation delivery
  • STIHL product familiarity is preferred.
