Job description

Position Summary
Red Cat Holdings is looking for a Product Development Manager to join our Global Product Development team. In this parent-company role, you will act as the vital link between high-level corporate strategy and the engineering execution of our subsidiaries.
Your mission is to embed yourself within teams at Teal Drones, FlightWave, Blue Ops, Apium, or other new teams to help them adopt standardized development frameworks, leverage shared resources, and maintain alignment with the Red Cat Integrated Master Schedule.
You are an "execution-focused" leader who thrives on turning high-level process templates into functional, daily workflows for world-class unmanned systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process Implementation: Take standardized practices and templates (Phase-Gate, NPI, PRDs) designed by the Senior Global PM and tailor their application to specific subsidiary engineering sprints.
  • Subsidiary Partnership: Serve as a hands-on advisor to Product Managers at Teal, FlightWave, Blue Ops, Apium or others helping them navigate technical blockers and resource constraints.
  • Dependency Mapping: Proactively identify opportunities for "shared wins"-such as integrating a sensor suite developed by Teal Drones into a FlightWave airframe-to reduce redundant R&D costs.
  • Schedule Management: Own the mid-level project milestones that feed into the Red Cat Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), ensuring data accuracy and timeline integrity.
  • Gate Facilitation: Lead the preparation for critical "Phase-Gate" reviews, ensuring subsidiary teams have the necessary documentation and validation ready for executive approval.
  • Team Mentorship: Provide guidance and task delegation to the Associate Product Manager (Global Support) to ensure reporting and research tasks are completed on time.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, product, or project management field. Equivalent fields include: Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, or Operations.
  • 4-6 years of experience in product management or technical program management, with a heavy focus on hardware-software integration. 8-10 year of directly related work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven ability to implement complex development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build rapport and drive results with engineering teams that report into different business units.
  • Comfortable discussing product requirements, specifications, development planning & processes, UAV/USV components, GCS software, sensor payloads, and maritime/aerial vehicle dynamics.
  • Advanced experience with Jira, Confluence, and portfolio management software (e.g., Smartsheet or MS Project).

Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the Unmanned Systems (UAV/USV) or Robotics industry.
  • Background in Defense (DoD) or Public Safety technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management standards.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
  • Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
  • Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.
